Hallmark Mystery Series Update: Which Series Are Canceled, Which Are Returning For 2025
Hallmark Mystery fans have been impatiently waiting for news on which mystery series will be back in 2025. Although the network is starting the year pretty slow by streaming the former CW-aired series, the Hallmarkesque The Spencer Sisters on Hallmark+ in January, and The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription on HM, these mystery fans will surely want to know what the future holds.
The expectations are high. Early in 2024, the network rebranded the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel to Hallmark Mystery. Furthermore, Lisa Hamilton Daly told the Hallmark Mysteries & More podcast that they were committed to mysteries. Therefore, Sleuthers may expect a flurry of news on the 2025 mystery movies.
However, with the meager January 2025 mystery news, it is not clear where Sleuthers will be finding their mysteries: on Hallmark+ or Hallmark Mystery. Here is what we know about the various mystery series now.
Hallmark Mystery Fans Should Expect Two New Hannah Swensen Mysteries In 2025
Firstly, Sleuthers should expect one, if not two new Hannah Swensen Mysteries in 2025. That is because according to Creative BC, an industry site, two mysteries were announced. The first was A Pie To Die For. Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe was set to direct this movie between October 15-November 1, 2024. Next, director Kevin Leslie was set to direct Cooked to Death between November 5, to November 24, 2024.

Although Hallmark Mystery did not make any sort of announcement, Barbara Niven did hint in her social media in early October that she was filming something. She gave zero clues as to what she was filming. However, she teased that more information was forthcoming. Although Sleuthers may assume that both mysteries will air in 2025, there are no promises, as per the next entry proves. Yet, it seems that at least one of the Alison Sweeney, and Victor Webster-led mysteries will be airing on the Mystery or streaming channel.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To The Moon And Back Will Air In 2025
POstables finally got their wish last year with Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale Of Three Letters. Best of all, the network filmed two movies back-to-back. Also, they promised that the second, To The Moon And Back, would premiere in 2025.
Last year, A Tale Of Three Letters premiered first on Hallmark Mystery, then on the OG. Will it be the same in 2025? That may be a case for the POstables team. Moreover, this decision to air one movie a year could also apply to the recently filmed Hannah Swensen Mysteries.

Hallmark Mystery Filmed More Mystery Island Mysteries
Although Hallmark Mystery has not announced anything on the future of the Mystery Island movies, all clues lead to at least one, if not more new movies. Both Signed, Sealed, Delivered star Kristin Booth and Mystery Island leading man, Charlie Weber. have shared some cryptic social media posts from lovely Panama, where the first movie was filmed. The Elizabeth Henstridge tag may be the most revealing clue of all.

Hallmark Mystery Makes Surprising Decision On Future Of Curious Caterer Mysteries
A lot of Sleuthers were excited when earlier this year, there was news that Hallmark Mystery would make two more Curious Caterer Mysteries early in 2025. However, according to Soaps, that news has changed. In a curious Hallmark decision, Andrew Walker revealed production on the next two mysteries is delayed until “mid year.”
His costar, Nikki DeLoach expounded on the surprising reason why they are delaying production. “What I can say is we’re kind of going back to the original number one and some of the things we established at the beginning of the series in terms of seeing Goldie as a chef and honoring what Diane Mott Davidson created in the novels of the series.”
So, we’re going back and pulling a bit of that back into the show, while also delivering in both six and seven, which are two different worlds.
This news is very shocking to Sleuthers. First, there is no promise that there will be another new Curious Caterer Mystery in 2025. Mid-season production could mean a movie for 2026. Or, it could mean further delays. Next, the series has been molded into something fantastic. The increase in IMDb ratings should show the network that the changes made since that first 2022 mystery, Dying For Chocolate, have been an improvement.
Does Curious Caterer Have The Murder She Baked Problem?
It seems very surprising that Hallmark Mystery would want to change something so successful as Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker’s mystery series. Moreover, the books have some different elements. Firstly, the ex-husband was an abuser. That is not part of the coziness and comfort of these mysteries. That part of Goldy’s story is more like a Lifetime movie. Next, there are people who are cast that are not like the ones in the books. Does this mean that they will change that to make some of the book fans happy?
Hallmark has made changes to Hannah Swensen to adhere to the Murder She Baked books including the broken engagement with Mike. But, the network may not have a choice in the matter. It certainly seems possible that writer Diane Mott Davidson wants changes.
Nonetheless, it seems very unfortunate as Foiled Plans and Forbidden Fruit were two of the best 2024 movies on Hallmark Mystery or the Hallmark Channel.
Has Mistletoe Murders Been Renewed For Season 2?
Sleuthers love the Hallmark+ mystery series Mistletoe Murders. Based on the Audible Original, this series stars Sarah Drew, as the mysterious Emily Lane, Peter Mooney as Detective Sam Wilner, and Sierra Marilyn Riley as his daughter Violet. Ken Cuperus created the Audible series and is the Hallmark showrunner. Most of all, this is a hit!
However, Hallmark has not yet renewed Mistletoe Murders for Season 2. Now that the series has aired in Canada, the demand for this Christmystery that is unlike anything Hallmark Mystery has ever done is high. This should be a priority for the network.
Where Are Kristoffer Polaha And Brennan Elliott’s Hallmark Mystery Series?
Ever since Hallmark Mystery canceled Mystery 101, Sleuthers have been waiting for Kristoffer Polaha to star in a new mystery series. The Christmas Quest star recently spoke to the Girls Gone Hallmark podcast about his potential series. Based on his own IP (intellectual property), he came up with the main character PI Orson Holt, as well as an intriguing story. However, right now, it is surprisingly a waiting game. Hopefully, there will be some filming news in 2025.
Next, Brennan Elliott is another Sleuther fan-favorite. Early in the fall, the Crossword Mysteries star spoke to the Love & Lattes podcast, he shared some news on a new Hallmark mystery. “I have a series for the Hallmark Channel, a mystery series, that I’ve been working on for a while that will shoot in Greece.” He added, “Greece is a very, very important character to the piece, but that’s all I can say about that at this point.”
Hopefully, 2025 will see two new mystery series.
The Hallmark Mystery Unknowns
Lastly, Sleuthers may want to know what is happening with other mysteries. Currently, the network has not made any announcements on these mysteries.
Firstly, there has been no official news on the Dancing Detective series with Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp. When Will Kemp was promoting Paging Mr. Darcy, he did mention that he was working on a second movie in the series.
Next, Hunter King has shared that she wants to make another Nikki & Nora Sister Sleuths with Rhiannon Fish. it is no secret that the network wants Hunter to become the next Lacey. It seems surprising that they have not made the second movie of this series.
Also, Tamera Mowry-Housley stars in Haunted Harmony Mysteries along with Marco Grazzini. Maybe it is time for another?
Now that there have been two Cases Of Mystery Lane, will Hallmark Mystery add more of the delightful Aimee Garcia and Paul Campbell series?
Lastly, although it has been three years since Hallmark Mystery has premiered Cut, Color, Murder, Sleuthers still want a resolution to this cliffhanger. The network doesn’t seem to have a very good track record with resolving cliffhangers. Bringing back the Julie Gonzalo and Ryan McPartlin mystery series would start to rectify these issues.
Will There Be More Aurora And Jane Mysteries?
In the early days of Hallmark+, the streamer premiered two additional Aurora Teagarden prequel sequel movies and three more Jane Mysteries starring Jodie Sweetin. Currently, there is no information on whether there will be more of either. It seems likely that the network is waiting to see how well they do on the streaming channel.
Those who want to see more Aurora may be interested to know that Peter Benson, who played the original Arthur, has an idea to include the younger Arthur, Evan Roderick. Speaking to the Hallmark Cafe, Benson did not share his exact idea, only that this is something he would like to do should they make another movie in this prequel series that stars Skyler Samuels and Marilu Henner.
Hallmark Mystery Released A Cornucopia Of Movies In 2024
Hallmark Mystery premiered a cornucopia of mysteries in 2024. So far, there has not been any renewal announcements. Perhaps the most popular that was released in 2024 was Tipline Mysteries starring Holland Roden and Chris McNally. It would seem likely that if Hallmark renews When Calls The Heart for Season 13, they will need to film another Tipline soon. That would mean more info would be announced soon.
Besides Tipline, here are the other 2024 mysteries that could potentially get a sequel. Again, Hallmark Mystery has not announced any renewals for now.

I would prefer to watch the movies on Hallmark Mystery as I already pay extra for it. I do not need or want another subscription.
Need more new movies on Hallmark Mysteries. I will NOT pay for another Hallmark channel. Pay too much now. Three Hallmark channels now, why another one. Just put new movies on the channels you have now. Going to lose many fans.
