Is Hallmark Making ‘The Christmas Quest’ Sequel With Lacey Chabert & Kristoffer Polaha?
Although Hallmark’s Countdown To Christmas adventure movie The Christmas Quest is not premiering until Sunday, December 1, there are already hints that the Lacey Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha movie will get a sequel. This is an Indiana Jones–Romancing The Stone type of movie that lends itself to more.
What does this Hallmark dream team say about that possibility and where would they like to film next?
What Is Lacey Chabert & Kristoffer Polaha’s The Christmas Quest About?
One of the most highly anticipated Hallmark Christmas movies this season is The Christmas Quest. This stars Hallmark’s Queen of Christmas Lacey Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha. They play ex-spouses Stefanie and Chase.
She is an archaeologist and he is an expert on Old Norse languages. Stefanie has just discovered something that her late mother devoted her life to. Stefanie has uncovered information leading to the legendary treasure of the Yule Lads. They are off on a quest!
However, the couple has to traverse around Iceland, where this movie was filmed in its entirety. Moreover, they need to be the first to find it, as there are others who want to get their hands on it. Moreover, their plans are not altruistic.
Could Hallmark Make A Sequel To The Christmas Quest?
There is a lot of anticipation for The Christmas Quest. This movie is unlike anything Hallmark has ever done before. But, there is a hint that the network may want to do a sequel.
On Tuesday, Lacey Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha did a Facebook Live to talk about their Countdown To Christmas movie. They discussed everything from ADR to costume designer Keith Nielsen’s gorgeous clothes, to Lacey’s epic fall up an ice glacier. Kristoffer confirmed that she was laughing despite taking a spill. Luckily, nothing happened to her!
One of the questions Hallmark listed was where they would like to film next if there was a Christmas Quest sequel.
Immediately, Lacey responded that she wanted to go somewhere warmer. She had to have warmers inside of her jacket as the weather was so cold in Iceland, despite it being filmed in late March.
Kristoffer suggested Fiji and even suggested that they search for a pearl, hinting at his 2018 Hallmark movie, Pearl In Paradise, with Jill Wagner, who he eventually starred in Mystery 101 with.
Could this question indicate that the network is ready to make a sequel? Since neither has had a mystery in 2024, it seems like a spectacular idea to pair Lacey and Kris up for more adventure movies.
However, since their characters are experts in all things Old Norse, it seems more likely that they would end up in Labrador, Northern Scotland, Ireland, or even the warmer environs of Byzantium where branches of the Vikings traveled.
