Where Was Hallmark’s ‘Mystery Island’ Filmed?
Hallmark has a brand-new mystery, Mystery Island, that is unlike anything that has been on the network before. This is a psychological thriller that takes place on an island. Therefore, where was this movie filmed?

What Is This New Mystery About?
The new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Signature Mystery is called Mystery Island. In this movie, Dr. Emilia Priestly (Elizabeth Henstridge) works for the London police as a psychiatrist. Desperately needing a vacation, her pal Baroness Jane Alcott (Tara McAllister) invites her to Mystery Island. On this island, the guests solve a mystery using an assortment of clues.
This is a special weekend, as the original investors are all in attendance. The Baroness is one of the original investors. She has previously attended, so the two are having a merry time. That is, until they find a dead body.
Now, fiction is reality. Local detective Jason Trent (Charlie Weber) commences an investigation into this murder. Once Emilia is cleared of murder, she helps Jason put together some clues to figure out who the murderer is.
Everyone has had a chance and the motive to murder. Can Emilia and Jason figure out the whodunit before they uncover any more dead bodies?
Where Was Hallmark’s Mystery Island Filmed?
Hallmark has a new Signature Mystery Series called Mystery Island. This story takes place in the Caribbean. Did the network film this movie on an island near Vancouver, where they film most of their movies? Or did they film this movie somewhere more tropical?
Recently TV Shows Ace interviewed John Christian Plummer, the Mystery Island screenwriter. Plummer, who is also the Mystery 101 screenwriter, revealed that his new mystery was filmed in Panama. Much of this movie was filmed in Panama City and Bonita Beach.
He recently spoke to the Hallmark Mysteries & More podcast about this location shoot. When JCP wrote the script, there was “going to be that central house.” However, that became an issue. “The producers and I couldn’t find a location where everybody could be housed in one property.”
Then, he changed it for practical purposes. He changed this to “multiple cabanas.” But that did not become necessary. Instead, they found the perfect location. Now, they could make this into a mystery “because then it allows them to do things with hallways.”
That means there is plenty of opportunity for shadowy figures to sneak around and more. When viewers are not watching the beautiful areas of Panama, they will get some real thriller vibes.
