‘Young Sheldon’: Jim Parsons, Mayim Bialik To Appear On Finale
Fans are disappointed that CBS canceled Young Sheldon despite its continued popularity and high ratings. Even some cast members have spoken out about the show ending, even though the Big Bang Theory universe will continue with a different spin-off. However, there is some exciting news about the finale.
Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will return as the adult Sheldon Cooper and his wife Amy Farrah Fowler in the series finale. Here is what you need to know.
Jim Parsons & Mayim Bialik Coming To Young Sheldon Finale
It might seem hard to believe, but neither Jim Parsons nor Mayim Bialik have ever appeared in person on Young Sheldon. Parsons has done the narration throughout the series, so he has been a part of it. However, he never appeared on camera as Sheldon in the series. Likewise, Bialik had some voice-over work on the show, but also never appeared as Amy on camera. That is all changing.
Parsons served as the narrator for all seven seasons of the show. Bialik was the co-narrator for two episodes of the series. Not only have these two never appeared on the show in any flash-forward, but none of the cast members from Big Bang Theory ever appeared in person on the show. That makes sense as it was important to help the spin-off to stand on its own without relying on the previous show — especially with all the plot discrepancies the two shows developed over the years.
There is no word on the storyline or how Parsons and Bialik will appear in the series. However, Parsons and Young Sheldon star Iain Armitage had some fun with the news on TikTok:

The Young Sheldon season finale will air on Thursday, May 16, at 8/7c on CBS.
What Is Next For Young Sheldon?
While Young Sheldon is ending, this is not the end of the Big Bang Theory universe. This also isn’t the end of Young Sheldon — at least as far as the family is concerned. A spin-off surrounding Sheldon’s brother Georgie and his bride Mandy is coming. There is also word that a new Big Bang Theory series is coming exclusively for Max. Some hinted it could include Leonard and Penny.
As for Young Sheldon, executive producer Steve Holland defended ending the show, saying it was his choice and not that of CBS. “There are certain things we know happened in Sheldon’s life at 14,” he said (via PEOPLE). “This is the right time for this story to come to an end, knowing that at 14, he goes off to Cal Tech. It felt like the right time to end it strong while it was on top.”
