Wheel of Fortune Season 41 is Pat Sajak’s last run on the game show before Ryan Seacrest takes over, but the veteran host already filmed his final appearance months in advance of his retirement. He’s set to do his finale and perhaps oversee the wheel for the last time on Friday, June 7.
Pat Sajak Was With The Game Show Since 1981
Wheel of Fortune fans were watching the game show long before many adults were even born. So, he’s an extremely familiar face on TV. However, he announced his retirement in June last year, and his last stand takes place almost exactly a year from then. As he’s getting on in age, some critics think he should have gone already.
Pat Sajak sometimes made mistakes over the years, and recently, lots of people felt it was unfair as he awarded a prize to someone who didn’t guess the exact spelling of “Everglades.” While it might seem harsh to criticize an older man, the stakes are high and sometimes, it can be life-changing for the contestants.

The Final Wheel of Fortune Episode Before Ryan Seacrest Hosts
Ryan Seacrest, 28 years younger than Pat, will take over the game show with Vanna White’s help. Taking the helm might not be an easy task for Ryan as Kelly Ripa claims he can’t spell. Well, in time, fans will make up their minds about him. For now, they will get to see the veteran’s closing act. According to The Sun, he’s already filmed his finale.
Rather aptly, the outlet revealed that Pat Sajak‘s final episode is titled, “Thanks For The Memories.” Further information unveiled the fact that the episode was filmed on Friday, April 5. According to their source, he already filmed all “six episodes.”
At this time, it’s not clear if the show will be a farewell with tributes and throwback scenes or just another standard show. Allegedly, he won’t even be getting a farewell cake. If those rumors are true, then perhaps he’ll just do the last episode as usual and then say “goodbye.”
Wheel of Fortune fans have mixed responses to Pat Sajak handing over to Ryan Seacrest. On Twitter X, @xoxojmo said, “Hold up. Ryan Seacrest is going to host Wheel of Fortune? I thought Pat Sajak’s daughter was going to host. Damn, I don’t like Ryan Seacrest. But that’s ok, because I don’t like Wheel of Fortune. I’m more of a Jeopardy! girl myself.”
