The staff over at Wheel of Fortune is grateful Pat Sajak’s time is almost up and that he is exiting the hit game show. Sajak’s last days of filming will be early April 2024 and then he will leave after forty-one seasons with Ryan Seacrest taking over. So, why is the staff so amped for him to leave? Keep reading for more details.

Wheel Of Fortune Staff Grateful Pat Sajak’s Exiting

For forty-one seasons, Pat Sajak has been the host of Wheel of Fortune. He took over for Chuck Woolery in 1981 and had no idea he would last as long as he did. With Vanna White by his side, they dominated the game show arena. Yet, in 2023, Sajak announced that he would be retiring in 2024 and they would be looking for his replacement. Ryan Seacrest was eventually announced as the new host with Vanna as an uncertainty. Her contract was in heavy negotiations and she had not had a raise in years. More so, she made a fraction of what Sajak did so she was looking for a lot.

Eventually, they secured Vanna through 2026 but as the new season began, viewers started to see it was time for Sajak to go. He was slightly rude to contestants and it was clear his time was up. Now, according to Monsters & Critics, even the staff at Wheel of Fortune are ready for him to exit. Insiders have this to say about Pat leaving the series:

“They aren’t even planning a goodbye party for him, and he’s not happy about it. He would have thought they’d have some sort of celebration planned — cake and champagne at the very least — but no one’s told him anything.”

This is allegedly not the first time Pat Sajak has been dissed by the show’s staff. When it was his 40th anniversary, he was ignored, as well. The insider continued: “He doesn’t think they’ll throw something together at the last minute. Let’s just say he’s not holding his breath.” The BTS staff is not the only group excited for Pat’s departure. It seems Vanna White is also ready to start the new adventure alongside Ryan Seacrest.

A New Day Is Coming

Ryan Seacrest will come in and take the reins from Pat Sajak which has Vanna White allegedly very excited. An insider had this to say about the changes ahead: “She can’t wait to start the new show. Everyone is excited — except Pat, of course.” Wheel of Fortune has had Sajak at the forefront for four decades now so it will be quite an adjustment for diehard fans. Luckily, with Vanna still around, this may assist in the transition.

  1. They should definitely have a party for him. He’s every bit the legend as any game host that’s been on TV!

      1. I can’t believe the staff doesn’t like pat Sajak. I wish he woukd stay longer. I’ll have to see if I want to watch Ryan Seacrest.

    1. Wheel of Fortune will never be the same. Pat has a quick wit that I think has been misconstrued as anger. It would be a shame to overlook celebrating him and his many years of hosting my favorite game show.

  2. I think his time should come. I am tired of seeing him make disapproving looks when someone wins in the bonus round. He shrugs his face and acts as though the money is coming from him. I am tired of watching him.

  3. Yes. Please go Pat. I think he should have left 10 years ago. It would have kept the show fresh. It’s just been the same old same old for way too long. If he has been rude to staff then NO party for you Pat.

  4. Time to vacate. Pat is rude and sarcastic. He even crosses the line with Vanna, but she’s a class act.

    1. Only people who have no sense of humor or have a stick up their butt think Pat is rude and sarcastic. People really need to lighten up.

  5. come on now. let the man be. personally he was doing something right. if not why did he last this long? you go pat. so many haters coming out of the wood works. enjoy you retirement and your life. throw a party for yourself. good luck.

  6. Most of the people who watch liked the fact it didn’t change that much. They want something in their lives to be constant and unchanging. But I think even they won’t mind having Ryan Seacrest as the new host since he’s in many ways very similar to Pat when he was younger.

  7. I think they will have a surprise party for him and that’s why he hasn’t heard anything about it. I think after as many decades as he’s been on the show he at least deserves a party! I would give him one if I were there. I like that I think he is humorous! Thank you Pat for all of the years that you have given us with wheel of fortune! ♥️

  8. He is by far the best host on TV. Always has been. He’s engaging and quite humorous. Most people don’t even know he served in Vietnam during the war. So pls watch your crude remarks and judgements. I will so miss him.

  9. Really?? Say something kind or just shut it!!
God bless you Pat and family!
    Enjoy your retirement
    I will miss you!

  10. There will never be another Pat Sayjack. He makes the show with his quick replies. I think he does a wonderful job, he deserves a thank you for 40 wonderful years party.

  11. I’m definitely going to miss Pat he’s been a wonderful host and a anchor in a sea of unknowns.

  12. I love Pat’s humor. Why is everyone so negative all the time? If people had a problem with his humor they would have let him go a long time ago. I would hope they would have a retirement party for him. I will miss him. Curious how the game show will be with Ryan Seacrest.

    1. I agree. I love Pat’s rudeness and sarcasm. The show’s staff are obviously a buncha woke snowflakes like the authors of this piece. Pat Sajak is an American icon. Seacrest has style but he’s such an obedient little media establishment pawn. I’ll miss Pat. Probably won’t watch anymore.

  13. Party for sure!! 40 plus years at any job deserves one and he has done a great job. When you set retirement plans that far ahead you tend to get different attitude toward the end. Good luck to you, Pat!!!

  14. Just GO, Pat… as you should have done 10 years ago! My family hasn’t watched in ages, and we look forward to a new beginning for Wheel.

  15. I agree..I think it’s very rude and unprofessional…no one should leave a place after all those years and not be given a party..just plain childish.

  16. Pat S will be missed. This is unfortunate he isn’t appreciated. This program wouldn’t have followers if he wasn’t a good host.

  17. Completely enjoy WOF. I enjoy pitting myself against the contestants. I enjoy Pat and Vanns. I like Brian Seachrist also. He is young and fun. Give a party for Pat he deserves it. Let’s keep all aspects of WOF light hearted and fun. No bad memories.

  18. I’m afraid we will see another Jeopardy like disaster, he made the show, she couldn’t handle it when he was sick. If you didn’t like him why did you watch? Your best days are gone, Seacrest will sink it, Pat knew when to go, Vanna do you?
