Wendy Williams’ Ex-Husband Wants Proof She Has ‘No Money’
New divorce filings show that Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter requested bank records after he was refused the documentation during mediation. Is Wendy Williams Really Out Of Money?
Kevin Hunter has effectively opened a new divorce case because out-of-court mediation efforts have proven to be fruitless. He says that he and Wendy reached a martial settlement agreement. The former talk show host was paying him severance payments as part of the agreement.
The payments to Kevin stopped coming in in January 2022. At the time, Wells Fargo had frozen all of Wendy Williams’ assets, suggesting a guardianship hearing. She was placed under guardianship with Sabrina Morrissey a few months later.
A source close to the negotiations between Kevin and Wendy said that the mediator shared insight into the former talk show host’s finances during a discussion in December 2022. “The reality is that there is no more money,” the mediator divulged. Wendy Williams seemingly confirmed this in the Lifetime docuseries, stating that she has “no money.” However, the source says that there is no evidence to back that claim up.
In fact, the source was able to look at a financial ledger themselves. Between the time they viewed the ledger and when the mediator made claims that the star was broke, only a year had gone by, and there was a substantial amount of money. Now, Wendy WIlliams’ ex is pushing for proof that she is out of money.
Wendy’s Financial Guardian Ignores Requests For Bank Records
The U.S. Sun obtained the new divorce filings, which explain the situation between Kevin Hunter and Wendy’s mediation team.
“On December 8, 2022, I attended a mediation with [Wendy’s] counsel and [Wendy’s] New York court-appointed guardian attorney Sabrina Morrissey,” the document reads. According to Hunter, Wendy Williams’ lawyer and guardian both agreed to provide bank records for her accounts.
He now says that the bank documents were never provided to him. By December 19, 2022, Kevin Hunter says he emailed the court mediator, copying everyone involved. In the email, he addressed the “lack of transparency and bad faith in their lack of candor in mediation.”
Wendy Williams’ ex-husband says that he continued to reach out without any response until February 8, 2023. At that time, he received a letter from Wendy’s lawyer stating that they would provide bank records for November and December 2022. However, Kevin Hunter says that was not what they initially agreed upon.
“The letter further stated that I could only review the documents in the mediator’s office,” the divorce filings read. “This was not the agreement, the agreement was from all the records from the date of dissolution until current.”
The insider close to the situation said that Wendy’s guardian effectively decided to stop payment to Kevin Hunter. She has also failed to provide Wendy’s team or her ex-husband with current bank records, leaving everyone in the dark about her financial standing.
