Where Is Wendy Williams? premieres on February 24 on Lifetime, and it went from a comeback to a red-flagging of the guardianship system. Her family hopes that the show will assist them in their fight for access to the former talk show celebrity. So does executive producer Mark Ford.

Everyone knew the talk show host who rose to fame and fortune. In her own words, she was born for it. And, she didn’t really know how not to be. However, in 2024, She’s famous for all the wrong reasons. Battling with sobriety, she failed to make her comeback after she talked about her struggles with Graves’ Disease and Lymphedema.

Wendy Williams’ fans From across the world who tuned in watched with disbelief, as she spiraled down and eventually disappeared off the ratings. Sadly, it seems she won’t get to make her comeback as her full medical diagnosis emerged recently. And, it includes “progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.”

Docuseries On Lifetime Covers Guardianship

When things went downhill, and instead of a comeback, the talk show personality became worse. Nevertheless, production kept on filming. Her brother, Tommy wanted her health to be the top priority. However, executive producer Mark Ford felt that the docuseries could challenge how courts approach guardianship. A guardian was appointed after a judge declared her broke and suspicion of abuse of funds arose.

People reported that the family of Wendy Williams seems shell-shocked because they can’t even contact her. The outlet cited her sister Wanda:

All I know is that Wendy and her team walked into the courtroom one way, and they walked out, and the family is completely excluded.

Sadly, they don’t even know how it all happened or why. The saddest thing is that they have no way of contacting her, although she can call them if she chooses. Furthermore, it seems that the guardianship isn’t working too well. People noted that after the appointment of the guardian, Wendy Williams was “caught on camera passed out at a Louis Vuitton store, drunk.” 

Wendy Williams’ Family Is Perplexed

More incidents followed, so naturally, her family would prefer to keep her safe. Wanda said, “How is that system better than the system the family could put in place? I don’t know. I do know that this system is broken. [But] I hope that at some point, Wendy becomes strong enough where she can speak on her own behalf.”
