Karen & Deon Derrico Gives Huge Dawsyn Health Update
Doubling Down With the Derricos fans met Dawsyn Derrico, the first-born of new triplets in 2020. This week, her mom and Dad, Karen and Deon Derrico shared some very good news. The cute little TLC starlet hit a massive milestone. Remember, she was born with a hole in the heart and needed urgent surgery. At one stage, rumors suggested that the baby girl had passed away. DDWTD Dawsyn Derrico Was A Preemie
Karen and her husband, Deon Derrico raised 11 children and some sets of multiples were already in the family. As she expected triplets, concern arose because the couple previously lost a triplet named Carter. After a nasty earthquake, Karen went into labor and produced three babies all born at 23 weeks. So, a long stay in the NICU ensued. Unfortunately, Dawysn was born with a hole in the heart. So, she underwent heart surgery.
Doubling Down With the Derricos fans prayed for the little girl, who later also contracted the coronavirus. Dawsyn Derrico survived, and ever since then, the family with 14 kids entertained fans on TLC. Naturally, updates on her heart health come along regularly from Karen and Deon Derrico. In 2021, on March 21, Deon told his fans that they celebrated Dawsyn’s “alive day.”
DDWTD Milestone News
Last year, Deon gave Mama Debbie a shout-out. It was her daughter, Tiffany who donated heart tissue for his triplet’s surgery. Debbie became like a member of the family, and they see her from time to time. On the downside, despite living a happy life, the beneficiary of Tiffany’s donation often has to go for heart health checkups. The most recent one revealed a massive milestone for the four-year-old. From now on, she needs to only go back for checks when she turns six.
