1000-Lb Sisters fans love following the lives of the siblings and watching them overcome challenges and hurdles. But is TLC pushing things a bit too far?

This year, it’s incredibly obvious to fans that some of the stars, particularly Amy Halterman, are reaching their breaking point. But instead of giving the stars a break and proper help, many fans think the network is exploiting the family and contributing to the problems.

Right now, plenty of fans are heated over the situation. Keep reading to see what viewers are saying online.

1000-Lb Sisters viewers are concerned for Amy and her children’s well-being

When each new 1000-Lb Sisters episode airs on Tuesday nights, fans take to Reddit to share their opinions. It’s generally a place to share ideas and praise the siblings for their hard work and progress.

But lately, viewers can’t help but notice that TLC seems more interested in escalating the drama.

During this week’s episode, Tammy Slaton experienced an exciting first. She boarded an airplane and took a fun trip to Florida with her family. And although Tammy was in great spirits during the episode, things weren’t going so well for Amy.

This season, Amy Halterman is experiencing life as a newly single mother. She’s also clearly struggling with depression. Fans couldn’t help but notice that TLC seems more interested in exploiting Amy’s situation instead of helping.

That was a very hard episode to watch. Those poor babies,” one Redditor user wrote in the thread. “Other than mentioning a tablet, there did not seem to be any toys or distractions provided to help them on a NINE HOUR car trip. No schedule, crappy diet- these poor children deserve better. I felt so bad for them.”

Other comments included:

  • “Telling her not to cry is what not helping. I cried for a yr when I got divorced, she has depression and 2 little kids.”
  • “They’ve also said she’s not taking her meds. So on top of that she’s now faced with divorce and PPD, another psychiatric disorder. “
  • “Amy is suffering from severe post-partum depression. She needs medication. My heart bleeds for her…I have been there.”

More drama is certainly coming

At the end of Tuesday night’s episode, TLC teased that the 1000-Lb Sisters stars were about to get into a physical altercation on their Florida trip. Fans have known about the fight since mid-2023, but now it will all play out onscreen. And just as before, viewers don’t expect TLC to help the situation much.

  1. This entire family needs to go back where they came from. And Amy was stupid for marrying her molester. The kids
will not have a good upbringing and will continue the cycle of poverty that they live in. I wonder how Amy is able
to manage these babies since she said she was legally blind?
