Krista Allen took on the impossible task of replacing Hunter Tylo on The Bold & The Beautiful. However, she announced this week that she was let go from the sudser. After getting fired, is she penning a book on the backstage drama? Keep reading for the latest on her shocking exit.

Emmy-Nominated Soap Star Fired From The Bold & The Beautiful

Krista Allen isn’t new to recasting popular soap opera characters. In 1996, she took over from the iconic Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives. Allen was on the sudser for three years. Port Charles alum Julie Pinson also played Billie Reed.

However, when Peacock announced a Beyond Salem spinoff, they tapped Lisa Rinna to return. Neither Rinna or her character returned for Season 2 of the spinoff.

In 2021, Krista Allen joined The Bold & The Beautiful as a recast Dr. Taylor Hayes. Hunter Tylo played the character off-and-on for nearly 30 years.

Just as she was celebrating her two-year anniversary in the role, Krista Allen was unceremoniously fired. While Allen has known since October, the CBS soap never made an official announcement.

The actress broke the news ahead of the 50th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony. Krista Allen was one of the nominees in the Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress category for her portrayal of Dr. Hayes.

The award went to General Hospital‘s Sonya Eddy, who passed away last year.

CBS has yet to comment on Krista Allen’s firing from The Bold & The Beautiful. However, fans are unlikely to see her return as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives.

The actress told Deadline that she was moving to Atlanta, Georgia. Now that she’s off The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, perhaps Lisa Rinna will reclaim her role.

Krista Allen Penning Book On Backstage Drama?

PEOPLE magazine caught up with Krista Allen just hours after news broke of her shocking exit from B&B. She told the outlet that she had “no idea” why the soap didn’t renew her contract.

“The contract was dropped, which is so crazy. It’s like, make that make sense,” she said about her firing.

However, she has an idea up her sleeve. The soap actress might try her writing skills with a book about her experience.

“It’s based on a true story… About a woman who took over a role on a soap opera and against all odds ended up winning over a fan base and getting nominated for an Emmy,” Allen said about her idea.

“And then there’s a lot of backstage drama going on, and she has to find her way,” she added.

Should B&B producers be wary that she’s going to spill some secrets?

While it may be based on her own experience, she assured the outlet it would be a “fun” book and not a tell-all.

If Krista Allen follows through and writes a book, will you buy it? Share your thoughts about her firing in the comments.
