Mark Ballas Reveals Why He Returned To ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Seasoned Dancing With The Stars fans felt delighted to hear that Mark Ballas would return to the competition this year. The 36-year-old dancer hasn’t been seen on the show since Season 25 when he finished in second place with Lindsey Stirling. But he’s back for another season this year and will partner with TikTok star Charli D’Amelio for a shot at the Mirrorball Trophy.

Mark Ballas received a personal invitation to join the cast
Although dance will always be near and dear to Mark Ballas’ heart, he’s been pursuing different interests these days. He and his wife BC Jean are a singing duo these days. They married in 2016 and seem to be very happy together.
But now, Mark Ballas is ready to put his dancing shoes back on and get back in the ballroom. And one very important person convinced him it was time to return.
There are many changes coming to Dancing With The Stars Season 31. After the exec team fired Andrew Llinares earlier this year, they rehired Conrad Green in his place. Conrad Green was the EP when the show first premiered, so he’s very familiar with Mark Ballas. According to the dancer, Green was the reason he opted to return.
Talent Recap revealed that Conrad Green personally called Mark Ballas and asked him to return to the show. Of course, Mark said he would be down to do it. Many other DWTS castmates expressed excitement over Green’s return. Even Tom Bergeron publically applauded the DWTS executive team for rehiring Green.
Fans that loved the show back in the early days may be in for quite a treat this year. Without a doubt, Green will have some tricks up his sleeves to bring the nostalgia and fun back to DWTS.
Two Dancing With The Stars friends are reunited once again
Dancing With The Stars fans are excited to see Mark Ballas return to the dance floor. But they’re also really happy to learn that Derek Hough will be reunited with his best buddy again. Derek was actually the best man at Mark’s wedding. They’ve been inseparable for years. Only this time, Derek will be judging his friend.
There’s still a lot that fans don’t quite yet know about the new season. But Derek was willing to share a sneak peek with fans when he appeared on Live With Kelly And Ryan.
There won’t be any commercial breaks, which means the judges will have more time to give feedback.
“It’s actually quite nice. Like when Bruno [Tonioli] talks for an hour and I have three seconds to say something profound and amazing that changes people’s lives, but I only have three seconds, so you know,” Derek joked on the show.
