The legal battle between Kevin Hunter and Wendy Williams’ financial guardian continues to unfold. However, Wendy’s guardian Sabrina Morrissey says that it is actually Kevin Hunter who owes the former daytime TV host money. Keep reading to find out how much Wendy Williams’ guardian says he owes and why.

Wendy Williams Overpaid Kevin Hunter In Alimony

Sabrina Morrissey has been Wendy Williams’ legal and financial guardian since May 2022. She has been in charge of Wendy’s finances and, when a legal matter arises, she also takes charge of the situation. Recently, Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter has been pushing the issue of his owed alimony money.

When the couple divorced, they came to an agreement that he would receive monthly payments from Wendy Williams. Those payments stopped coming in January 2022. Shortly after that, she was placed under financial guardianship.

Kevin Hunter has been pushing to receive bank statements to prove that his ex-wife hasn’t been able to afford to pay him over the last two years. In response, Sabrina Morrissey filed a separate lawsuit stating that he actually owes Wendy money.

The lawsuit was filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey and demands that Kevin pay back $112,500 in alimony. Wendy’s financial guardian stated in the filing that she believes that Kevin was overpaid for three months of alimony payments.

Wendy and Kevin’s initial agreement was based on her being employed at The Wendy Williams ShowBecause she stopped working on the show in September 2021, her paychecks from the program ceased as well. Despite this, Kevin Hunter continued to receive payments from his ex-wife for three months before they stopped altogether.

What Was The Agreement, Exactly?

Since she left the show, Wendy Williams has only received two payments. There was a lump sum of $1,952 paid in February 2022 and $59 in January 2023.

Their agreement should have been terminated if Wendy’s salary became “less than 2 times her then yearly salary as of February 1, 2020.”

“I believe this was largely the result of the fact that the payments had been put on an ‘autopay’ function within her account,” Sabrina Morrisey claims in the lawsuit. “Her residuals income has been very small since 2021, nowhere near one half of her income in February of 2020 or in October of 2021. By holding on to the funds he was overpaid, [Hunter] has interfered with [Williams’] right of possessions to those funds.”

On top of wanting Kevin Hunter to repay the $112,500 he was overpaid, Wendy Williams’ financial guardian is also requesting that he pay back interest. She has also requested a gag order on Kevin, restricting him from talking about the couple’s financial arrangement with anyone outside of court.

“The potential harm to [Williams] is great,” Morrissey claims in the filing. “Mr. Hunter and his agents have shown their willingness to talk to the press about these issues.”

It looks like the financial feud will play out in court over the next several months.
