Don’t Miss Lifetime’s Ripped From The Headlines Thrillers
Lifetime is kicking off 2023 with a quartet of Ripped From The Headlines movies. Don’t miss Gwen Shamblin: Starving For Salvation. This movie stars Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing, Grey’s Anatomy) and Vincent Walsh (Billy The Kid, Played).
Gwen Shamblin Lara (Grey) was a rare female Christian leader, whose core philosophy was about being thin. She founded the Remnant Fellowship Church and the Weigh Down Workshop in Tennessee. Despite her petite frame, her big blonde hair and powerful personality made her look invincible.
As she became wealthier, the high-profile religious leader became more demanding. In addition, she demanded that church members who were at religious odds with family members who did not belong to her church become estranged from them. Most of all, she was like a barracuda! Moreover, any church member who left the church was threatened with legal action.
However, her reign ended tragically in May 2021. Her husband Joe (Walsh) flew a plane that crashed not long after they took off. Therefore, this killed Gwen, Joe, their son-in-law, and four other church members.
Lastly, this movie will premiere on Saturday, February 4, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on Lifetime.
Bad Behind Bars: Jodi Arias Is Lifetime’s Update On Famed Killer
Another Ripped From The Headlines movie is Lifetime’s Bad Behind Bars: Jodi Arias. This movie stars Celinda Sinden (The Retreat, Reign), Adesola Adesina (Haunted Hospitals, The Last Strigoi), Tricia Black (In The Dark, Locke & Key), Elias Edraki (Hudson & Rex, Easy Land), Michelle Haffey (Haunted Hospitals), Christine Noble (1UP, Pretty Hard Cases), and Adriano Sobretodo Jr. (Revenge Delivered, Spinning Out), and Lynn Rafferty (The Expanse, North Sea Connection).
When Jodi Arias (Sinden) killed her boyfriend, she wound up going to jail as she awaited her trial. There, Jodi charmed everyone inside the big house. That includes three other inmates that became part of her squad.
When one is released, they publicly claim that Jodi couldn’t have done what the police say. However, her support of Arias ends when she does go to court, and the information at the trial is significantly different from what Jodi told them when they hung out.
Now, this former inmate has changed her stance! What does she say?
Bad Behind Bars: Jodi Arias premieres on Saturday, January 21, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on Lifetime.
