What Is Hallmark’s Mid-Love Crisis About?
According to the Hallmark synopsis, Mindy’s (Hatcher) 50th birthday is just a week away. Moreover, she knows that she is wallowing in despair. She is suffering from a mid-life crisis. She is overthinking every decision she ever made. It is easy to contemplate life because she is hiding away from the world at the family lake cabin.
However, she has to stop thinking of herself, because her daughter Rita (Laporte) and her girlfriend Emily (Scarrwener) have decided to visit this retreat for the weekend. Moreover, Emily’s uncle Sam (Tupper) has joined them.
Is this serendipity? Because Sam is Mindy’s high school sweetheart. In addition, she has not spoken to him in over 30 years. Maybe she can embark on a do-over? There seem to be sparks, even after all of these years.
Yet, there is another twist to this long weekend. Rita plans on proposing to Emily. Therefore, she wants her dad to be there. Marc (Markinson) is Mindy’s ex-husband. There is nothing awkward here!
Mindy now has a lot on her plate. She has two exes who want her attention. Most of all, she wants her daughter Rita to cancel her plans for her big birthday party. She does not need to celebrate her 50th.
Now, Rita has to figure out what she really wants from life, and how she wants to live her next chapter.
