What’s Next For Hallmark’s ‘Aurora Teagarden’ Now That CCB Is At GAC?
On Tuesday, Candace Cameron Bure surprised Hallmark fans with news that she signed a contract with GAC Media.
The Fuller House star signed a huge deal. Not only will she star in movies, but her production company, Candy Rock Entertainment, will be working to develop and produce new content for both of GAC Media’s channels, GAC Family and GAC Living.
Therefore, CCB will hold an executive position at GAC Media, curating and creating content for two channels.
What does this mean for Sleuthers? Will Aurora Teagarden Mysteries continue?
Now That CCB Is At GAC, Will Hallmark Continue Aurora Teagarden?
One of the big questions that Sleuthers had regarding CCB’s Signing with GAC Media was the future of the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries.
It did not take long to get that answer. According to Variety, there are no plans to continue the series.
A spokesperson told the publication, “Crown Media has enjoyed over 10 years of collaboration with Candace. We respect her decision and thank her for her many contributions.”
CCB’s “many contributions” include 29 movies. From that total, 18 were Aurora Teagarden Mysteries.
In addition, US Magazine spoke to Crown Media, who confirmed that the series was R.I.P. now. They “will air existing movies, [but have] no plans for new ones.”
That means that Candace Cameron Bure’s co-stars Niall Matter, Marilu Henner, Lexa Doig, Peter Benson, and everyone else in the series, including the writers, directors, and crew, are out of a job.
Aurora Teagarden Was Top Performer On Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
Now the cast and crew of Hallmark’s Aurora Teagarden have found themselves jobless. In addition, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries franchise has found itself without its top series.
Earlier this year, Sleepy Kitty Paw went to Twitter to share the top 10 movies from Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Two of the three Aurora Teagarden Mysteries outperformed all of the 2021 HMM Christmas movies.
This is a huge blow to the sister network.
What Is Next For Hallmark Movies And Mysteries?
Looking back on the top 10 list, only Alison Sweeney’s Sweet Revenge: A Hannah Swensen Mystery came close to Aurora Teagarden Mystery number. Furthermore, there has been no news on whether they will be making another mystery in that series.
Moreover, just a week ago, Mystery 101’s Jill Wagner went to Instagram to share that they don’t know what is happening with the series she stars in with Kristoffer Polaha. She is even getting hate mail from angry Sleuthers.
Even CCB did not know if Aurora Teagarden would continue. In February, in a fan Q&A, she revealed that she did not know if the mystery series would continue. It is hard to know whether this uncertain situation played a part in her decision to move on to sign with former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott at GAC Media.
Now that the flagship series is done, what will Hallmark Movies & Mysteries do next?

Hallmark too worried about being politically correct and woke and losing audience and actors. The pandemic made the network with all at home. Now you are losing us. You had so many male watchers starting in 2020. Women were right best place watch television until a few months ago.
Get rid of the nonsense woke and stop losing good actors and audience and cancelling good series.
I do not care about woke or non-woke. What I care for is equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of gender, color or religion. I think you can have family friendly, kind, and moral programming that is reflective of all of us without categorizing people or disenfranchising them. That goes for the Christian right and the left woke.
