Drew Basile Teases His Chances For ‘Survivor 50’ Return
Drew Basile has watched his time on Jeopardy! come to a close. After winning seven straight days, Drew lost on Friday when he missed the Final Jeopardy! question. However, the good news is that Drew will be back on the game show for the Tournament of Champions.
That said, Drew doesn’t think he will be back on the reality TV series that made him popular to begin with: Survivor.
Why Does Frew Basile Not Think He Will Return To Survivor 50?
Drew Basile was eliminated from Jeopardy!, but not until after he won over $100,000 and qualified for the Tournament of Champions. Despite his time on the game show ending, people are already asking him about Survivor. He was part of the Survivor 45 cast before his Jeopardy! run.
However, Drew is not expecting a call. “Anyone who has ever sniffed the Fijian beaches is praying for a call for Season 50, and I would be delighted, I really would,” Basile said (via Entertainment Weekly). “I think I have more to offer. That being said, I really am content with the way Survivor went.”
On Survivor 45, Drew finished in the Final 6. His own alliance blindsided him and sent him home at that time. However, he said he had remained friends with most of the cast he played alongside in that season. Drew said he did what he wanted to do. He played well and even won an individual immunity.
“It’s hard to look at the full package, the full Survivor experience, and say, ‘I need a little bit more,'” he said. “It’s kind of like in the movies when you have a perfect ending and then they make another sequel — sometimes it’s good to just stick with the perfect ending.”
In the end, he said that he is not holding his breath and that many more qualified players than him could return for the Season 50 all-stars lineup.
Drew Basile Will Be Back On Jeopardy!
While Drew Basile doesn’t think he will get a Survivor 50 invite, he will get one from Jeopardy! when Drew won his fifth game, he guaranteed an invitation to the Tournament of Champions.
Ken Jennings told Drew Basile that he earned his invitation after that fifth win, and then the Survivor alumni went on to win two more games. So far, Drew has the second-longest winning stream so far this season. Adriana Harmeyer has the most wins at 15 ($349,600).
Also joining them will be Alison Betts (5 wins) and Amy Hummel (5 wins). There are also people with four wins but are not guaranteed an invite. Lisa Ann Walter will also be there as a Celebrity Jeopardy! champion.
