The Kardashian family has been part of reality television for 18 years now. After Kim rose to fame thanks to a leaked sex tape, the family cashed in. Keeping Up with the Kardashians aired from 2007 to 2021, and The Kardashians has aired since 2022. However, many fans believe their time is coming to an end.
Here is why fans feel the family’s time in the spotlight is ending.
Is The Kardashians Coming To An End?
The family became huge pseudo-celebrities thanks to a leaked sex tape. They have gone through several terrible moments over the last two decades. However, despite all the embarrassments and mishaps, they kept getting more and more television time. They are just as big, if not bigger, on social media as influencers.
Other than the two main shows featuring the family, there have been spin-offs. Kim and Kourtney had a series, followed by Kourtney and Khloe and then Kourtney and Kim again. Khloe and Lamar Odom had their own show. Kourtney and Kim and Kourtney and Khloe had another show for each duo. There were also Dash Dolls and Life of Kylie.
However, fans on social media have asked if their time in the sun is finally coming to a close. Here is what the fans have been debating about the future of this reality TV empire.
- One person asked if their time is ending as they lose popularity, writing, “Other than this whole alabama barker situation on tiktok and this whole kylie x timothée thing, i feel like day by day less people care about the Kardashians.”
- One fan said they don’t see them getting new fans, writing, “I don’t think they’re actively gaining new fans. They will continue to have a large following of ppl that have kept up with them since KUWTK for the rest of their lives.”
- A third said they think the family is ending things on their own, writing, “I think they’ve made their money and they are content with slowly stepping out of the spotlight and being more lowkey. I give the Hulu show another few seasons and they’ll be done permanently once the kids are all older.”
Is The Bad Publicity Finally Catching Up With The Kardashians?
For many years, it seemed like all publicity was good publicity for the Kardashian family. Even their mishaps brought in fans and kept the reality TV money rolling in. However, there are other things that are turning some fans away from the family.
Recently, Kourtney Kardashian went to protest toxic waste being dumped in her town. However, one of her friends had a sign suggesting they dump the toxic waste in poorer communities instead, which turned things back around on her and made the protest look wrong.
If anything, at least Kim Kardashian distancing herself from Kanye West might be helping her popularity, although any connection to him is damaging right now. Kim even tried to keep her private life private when divorcing Kanye (via New York Post), which might prove she is stepping back from the spotlight.
