‘Live’ Kelly Ripa’s Anniversary Ruined, Threatens To Leave
Live with Kelly and Mark host, Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos celebrated their wedding anniversary on Wednesday, but she seemed a bit upset by a senior producer and threatened to leave the ABC morning talk show. Live Kelly Ripa Often Pretends To Clash With A Producer
Michael Gelman, a producer on the ABC morning talk show is often targeted by the livewire host. In fact, she mostly just jokes about him, but genuine irritation sometimes shows. The wife of Mark Consuelos is a perfectionist, and when things go wrong, she’s got a sharp tongue. However, the producer that upset her this week wasn’t Gelman.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos celebrated their wedding anniversary on May 1. Actually, they took their Live with Kelly and Mark audience back through time recently. ABC viewers saw the church in Las Vegas where they eloped and tied the knot in 1996. Well, she noted that it was their special day, and told a producer that he could have chosen a better day to reveal his news.
Live With Kelly And Mark Producer Leaves, So Will Kelly?
On the show, Live Kelly told her audience that a producer would be leaving the show. She called it a “tribute,” and while she complained that it was her anniversary, it was also an anniversary for Art Moore. Years ago, on May 1, he joined the ABC talk show. There must be something about the company because good people seem to stay for decades.
Kelly Ripa announced that Art Moore, the WABC-TV VP of programming is retiring in September. Live Kelly said:
I want to pay a tribute today, not to us , of course, but to the biggest part of thre family here at Live, and at ABC…Art Moore. He’s chosen to today, today yes! Our wedding anniversary, today of all days, to announce that…the time has come. But, I don’t think it has come…I am convinced that over the next few months I will be able talk Art out of retirement…He’s the reason that I’ve stayed here all these years.
The Live with Kelly and Mark host also said, “You are so, so important to me, to our family. You are one in a gazillion and you mean so much to all of us. You’re the most special, devoted, loyal, extraordinary person I’ve ever met in my life.”
Joking about retiring from ABC again, she told Art Moore, “I know that you’re not leaving this building without me.” Turning to Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa quipped, “You could have a whole new co-host and I could be retired with Art.”
