Ethan & Olivia Plath’s Divorce Closed – Now Requires Refiling
While the Welcome To Plathville stars, Ethan and Olivia Plath, have been living separately for a while, they officially filed for divorce in February. However, when filing, they unfortunately left a few important details blank. Often, divorce paperwork can hold up the process if all information is not provided in the initial filing. Likewise, if the filers do not submit the documentation promptly, the court will close it and require them to start over. Seemingly, this is the case with Ethan and Olivia.
Ethan And Olivia Plath’s Divorce Is Closed
On February 21, Welcome To Plathville stars, Ethan and Olivia Plath began the paperwork filing for the official divorce. However, immediately after submitting the paperwork, it was quickly noticeable that some documentation areas lacked vital information. According to Starcasm, “The day after the couple filed the divorce paperwork, a Deficiency Notice was filed by a court administrator. It appears the couple left the section about spousal maintenance blank, as well as the sections asking for information about bank accounts and assets or liabilities.”
Since the initial Deficiency Notice, Ethan and Olivia did not take any further actions with the court. As a result, the court closed the divorce proceedings “administratively” on April 26. Reportedly, Ethan and Olivia cannot re-open the existing divorce case according to a court clerk from the District Court in Minnesota where the divorce request was originally open. Additionally, Ethan and Olivia will need to file again for the court to review the new case.
Case Closed
Although Ethan and Olivia Plath have not provided any requested information to continue the case in Minnesota, there is a chance they could have filed in a different state since that time. Furthermore, neither are currently living in Minnesota so their filing elsewhere is a strong possibility. Since Olivia has been living in California for more than a year now, it is highly feasible they may have chosen to file there instead. Additionally, it is more difficult for the public, including the media, to obtain divorce court documents in California. For that reason, it may be their preferred avenue.
Ethan And Olivia Plath Fail To Respond To Deficiencies
When Ethan and Olivia Plath initially filed the paperwork, they included information about their earnings. However, they left out some significant categories that most likely caused a red flag for the processing. Correspondingly, the Deficiency Notice states they did not include information about spousal maintenance. Furthermore, it was missing details about their bank accounts, assets, and liabilities. Seemingly, this would be an area they would have quickly updated and sent in to finalize the divorce; however, that is not the case for the estranged couple. Perhaps with Olivia’s latest endeavors, she has been too busy to keep up with everything on her plate. Or, the two may still have deep-rooted communication problems keeping them from efficiently completing tasks.
