Olivia Plath Explains Why Marriage To Ethan Was Unsavable
While Welcome To Plathville stars, Ethan and Olivia Plath’s relationship unraveled over several seasons of the show, fans still have questions. Since the divorce, Olivia has been open to discussing their issues on multiple platforms. But one way she is giving fans answers is through direct Q&A sessions. Additionally, she also elaborated through interviews that reveal some of the cracks.
Olivia Plath Speaks Out About Her And Ethan’s Marriage
Just a few weeks ago, Welcome To Plathville‘s Olivia Plath discussed life and Plathvile with Ryan Bailey in So Bad It’s Good. Within the conversation, she talks about Ethan Plath wanting to get back together before the divorce was finalized. Although he dragged his feet, they eventually signed the papers. And she also talks about how the Plaths had a party to celebrate Olivia and Ethan’s divorce. Additionally, she admits she is a petty b*tch for rubbing the fact she will be in Season 6 in Kim Plath’s face. But Olivia gets candid with fans in a Q&A session and explains why the marriage wasn’t meant to be.

Olivia Plath Hosts A Q&A
On Olivia Plath’s Instagram Stories, she opens up to fans by giving them direct access to ask her questions. Then she posts a series of questions and answers to let fans in on the deets. In one of the photos, she addresses a question about her and Ethan Plath’s divorce. After responding to several questions she adds one about their marriage. The fan asks, “How did you know divorce was the right choice? Going through something similar, feeling lost.” Olivia contests with her fans and talks about some of the underlying problems in their relationship.
Olivia Plath Gives Details About Her And Ethan’s Relationship
In a screenshot, Olivia Plath explains why her marriage with Ethan Plath was unsalvagable. She says, “It was a long process for me.” Then she gives some details, “I didn’t feel loved or protected in that relationship.” Olivia talks about what led to the deep-seated problems. She says, “And I spent a few years of being depressed, emotionally unregulated, and feeling abandoned before I was able to admit to myself that no growth was happening in the relationship.” But she realized that things weren’t changing. Admittedly, she says, “And I would probably still be feeling the same way 15 years down the road if I kept making excuses and waiting for change.”
Although Olivia Plath and Ethan ultimately decided they couldn’t stay together, Olivia knows divorce isn’t the right path for all relationship issues. She adds, “Divorce isn’t the answer for everyone. Sometimes a relationship just needs help or intentionality, sometimes it needs a break and refocus.” During Welcome To Plathville, the couple seemingly tried some of these strategies before ultimately calling it quits.
Ultimately The Marriage Was Unsavable
However, after many efforts, both Ethan and Olivia Plath began asking tough questions. Notably, many of their deal breakers came down to how they would raise children together with vastly differing beliefs. When Olivia gives her answer on Instagram, she also discusses two major turning points for her choice to move on without Ethan. She tells the fans, “But another good litmus test is: ‘Would I want my child to be in a relationship like this? Would I want to see my best friend in a relationship like this?’ and when I answered no to those, I knew it was over.” In the end, that was the main catalyst for her to embrace divorce.
