WeTV Scammed ‘Mama June’ Viewers?
Did WeTV scam Mama June viewers? They have had a history of helping to fabricate the truth when it comes to the family. Not everything that fans see is reality even though the cast has maintained the show is not scripted. Keep reading for more details on how viewers may be getting scammed.
WeTV Scammed Mama June Viewers?
Viewers have long been deceived by WeTV when it comes to Mama June: From Not To Hot and Family Crisis. One storyline claimed that Pumpkin’s husband, Josh Efird worked with Sugar Bear but that was false. Additionally, the home that they film in is not actually Pumpkin’s but rather a dummy home. It is solely used for filming during the season. The reason is it has more space for the camera crew, the Efirds, and Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson to move around. Finally, it was portrayed that Alana lived with Pumpkin from the time June’s addiction got bad until she graduated high school.
That was also false as it came out she lived with her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell starting at 16. So, how else has WeTV scammed faithful viewers? A Reddit thread was started to address the family’s usage of TikTok. The OP said this:
- U would think WE tv was make them stop the posting on tt cause the show & their tt don’t coincide with each other . U can tell the show is way scripted.
This was where it came out that Alana had not lived with Pumpkin from sixteen on. More so, Mama June shared how much money Alana had in the bank, proving she was not poor. Did followers agree with the OP?

- So many people actually liked them (maybe not june so much) before they start showing off their real dumpster fire of a life on TT.
- I think that cat is out of the bag now, but a smart WE tv production team would have made them sign contracts stating NO social media out side of promoting the show and/or their ‘stores’.
The NDA
One question that came up was about NDAs and whether the cast of Mama June should have to sign them. Maybe if they did, they would stay off of TikTok to not tarnish what they are portraying on the show. Apparently, one Redditor shared that WeTV does make their casts sign them and that may be why June is in a financial pickle:
- I follow a couple of other reality star pages that are contracted with WeTV. They have all stated they did indeed sign NDA’s that their personal life outside the show would not be disguised via social media. They are to keep with the script storyline off and on camera. Maybe that’s why ol June Bug is broke. She just can’t keep her Big mouth shut and WeTV is fining the he** outta her. lol 😝 If she keeps it up hopefully she’ll be fired!
So, WeTV may have tried to stop June and her whole family from exposing their private lives to keep to the show’s storyline. However, she does not care nor do her children so they keep saying and doing whatever they want. At one point, Alana claimed their show was the number one show on the network which was not true.

They should cancel the whole show….stop trying to fool the viewers….the whole family is worthless!!!! Alana is turning into another lazy man hungry copy of June!!!! Pumpkin….well her and her hubby Josh, are just worthless big talking full of crap folks….Doe Doe, brainless, why even bother having her on….this show should of stopped after June and Geno got in to the drugs…Alana is not broke, and she should not be asking her followers for money then making fun of them when they only send 5 or 10 dollars….she’s a JOKE!!!! A USER!!!! I don’t watch anymore, but the commercials still show so you can still see what a bunch of LOOSERS they are!!!! June’s hubby needs to stop thinking his big necklace looks good, he looks like a wannabe pimp!!! scraggly ass guy….June’s no catch but boy howdy she sure digs to the bottom of the scum pool to dig out her men!!!! oh well, my opinion, I’m entitled to it, as everyone’s entitled to theirs. I’d sure like to see this show go away, stop supporting their horrible life style, and language. June calling her daughters “bitch” her daughters calling June a “bitch”….not a good family role model…..or a good family show!!!!
