‘Today’ Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Hoda Kotb’s Cute Nickname

Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb are celebrating five years together on Today With Hoda & Jenna and this week, Jenna revealed the cute nickname that she sometimes uses for Hoda. They’ve been in New Orleans, and the tale about the nickname came on Apri 11.

Jenna Bush Hager Enjoys A Celebration

A few years ago, fans of The Today Show saw that Hoda Kotb looked a bit disapproving because her co-host enjoys drinking some alcohol. They talked about SantaCon 2022 and Jenna admitted that before she welcomed her children, she could party with the best of them. However, Hoda doesn’t like to drink a lot. Feeling drunk is not her biggest ambition in life. Today With Hoda & Jenna fans might wonder if that’s when the nickname started.

Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb are friends, but sometimes they seem like opposites in personality. For example, when they went to Canada for a winter getaway, Hoda revealed that she packed four pairs of underwear for a three-day trip. Meanwhile, Jenna sounded naughty and said she didn’t bother with them. Well, that was another time that Jenna might have used her nickname for her co-host.

Hoda Kotb Gets A Cute Nickname

On Thursday, the two women discussed the fun night out that they enjoyed in New Orleans. Possibly, as Hoda doesn’t get as wild as her friend, she reminds Jenna of her dad. So, the daughter of former President George W. Bush bestowed the nickname of “Dad” on her. It seems that when she wants to be a bit naughty, she recalls that her dad would probably caution her against it. And, the Today Show host does the same thing.

Jenna Bush Hager did admit though, that in New Orleans, she didn’t need to call Hoda Kotb “Dad,” because she also got into the spirit of fun. She said:

You weren’t Dad that night…Hoda took a shot. We went into a dive bar, and they were yelling ‘shots,’ and before I even knew it, Hoda was in there pounding something. And then we danced, we had the best [fun].

Well, everyone needs a break to let their hair down occasionally. And, hardworking Hoda knows that. So, she talked about letting go of the domestic duties, and the social niceties, and just being free for a bit. She noted, “[You’re] busy at work, week after week, your kids are crying, everybody needs you. You come to New Orleans and you know what you do? You rip off the tops of your buttons and you get to be yourself.”
