Pat Sajak’s Unique Parting Gift For Losing Contestant

It is almost time for Pat Sajak to step away from Wheel of Fortune and film his final episode. Then, for Season 42, Ryan Seacrest will take over the reins with Vanna White still turning letters. Unfortunately, once Pat announced his retirement, fans noticed he was getting more snarky and rude with contestants. Furthermore, he had an attitude and it was alleged that the show staff was over him. More so, they could not wait to be done with him and for him to make his exit. They did not even want to wish him well in his next stage with a party or any positive send-off.

However, Pat is making the most of his final days and doing kind things for the contestants. According to The Sun, Pat was chatting with a recent contestant named Willie. Willie had noted that he liked Pat’s style and took some cues from him. He mentioned to Willie that he had “said some nice things about his clothing” to which the contestant shared:  “Yes, I’m a fashionable guy myself, and I take note of what you wear, and your stylist is doing a great job.”

Their comradery was really great and sweet with Pat Sajak smiling as he noted that Willie liked him. More so, he went on to adjust his gold tie. As the game went on, sadly Willie did not end up winning but he did come out on top in his own way. As Pat went to say goodbye, he let Willie know he was not ignoring him or the handshake. Rather, he had another gift for him. “A man who appreciates- I’m gonna give you a bonus prize, all yours, Willie!” Pat said as he took off his tie and handed it over.

A Moving Moment

As this was happening, audience members were so taken by it, that audible sounds of affection were heard all around. Pat Sajak is showing that he does have a soft side for contestants who genuinely appreciate being there. More so, he seems to be softening as his days come to an end. Fans had to comment on the sweet gesture the host made toward Willie:

• Pat Sajak is so cool! That was so nice of him to give that man his necktie!
• Awww Pat is awesome, giving his tie away!
• How cool is that? I’ve been watching this for 40 years, whatever, and never seen Pat give anyone a piece of his clothing.
