Tammy Slaton’s Nephew Dustin Claims Abusive Childhood
1000-Lb Sisters fans met Amy and Tammy Slaton’s older sister, Misty Wentworth on the TLC show. Mind you, she isn’t seen all that often. When she does appear, she sometimes seems critical of Tammy, and once, she accused Amy of cheating in a competition. A few years ago, Misty’s son, Dustin opened up about his sadly abusive life as a child. Recently, TLC fans discussed it on social media.
Tammy Slaton Has A Complex Family
While Misty is known on the show, it’s hard for TLC fans to figure out the entire family. That’s because some of the family had a different dad{s). Anyway, Misty is known as a Slaton for the 1000-Lb Sisters show, but she was married and divorced. In January, Season 5 viewers saw that Amanda and Misty, like Chris Combs, also went for gastric surgery.
Tammy Slaton and her sister Amy seemed to have an unhappy childhood, and they claimed that’s why they found comfort in eating takeout and unhealthy treats. But this week, TLC fans discussed Dustin, one of Misty’s children. And, it turned out that according to him, he suffered from an abusive childhood.
Dustin, Misty’s Son Claims A Harsh Abusive Childhood

In the comments section of the 1000-Lb Sisters post, most TLC fans discussed how they believed that Tammy Slaton treated her nephew very badly. And, a link to a compilation of Tammy being mean arrived. In his original video, Dustin described how he had “a happy” time as a kid until one night, his parents argued.
Despite freezing conditions outside, his dad allegedly threw out the family but retained seven-year-old Dustin, who claimed he was often “beaten.”
Tammy Slaton Unkind To Dustin?
1000-Lb Sisters fans heard Dustin elaborate on how he finally became reunited with his brothers who treated him with suspicion. Constantly told by his father that he was “useless,” and the horrid welcome by his brothers, eventually saw him break down and he told his teacher. Obviously, some TLC fans wrote in the Reddit discussion how they felt “sad” for him. But, others lambasted Tammy Slaton.
- The videos of Tammy being abusive to Dustin remind me of how she was yelling at Amy before the fight went down last episode. You could tell Tammy wasn’t fully aware they were being recording for the show and when she did, she switched up real quick.

- Verbally abused him at every chance she got while Tammy was living with the mom Darlene. Dustin moved in to help Darlene do everything for Tammy.
