After getting her weight loss surgery and having children, Chris Combs stepped in to be Tammy’s weight loss partner. Chris, however, also ended up leaving Tammy in the dust by achieving his goals as well. At the time, the siblings joked there was no shortage of overweight family members to go down this path with Tammy. But, ultimately, it was Tammy Slaton who had to reach a point where she was finally ready for a change.
After several very scary near-death experiences, Tammy Slaton finally got her life together. She went to rehab. She worked hard. And, she lost the weight. At a shocking weight loss of over 300 pounds, most TLC fans admit they’ve learned one big thing about Tammy. They had no idea she was so short because they had only ever seen her sitting down for years.

Tragedy struck Tammy Slaton and her family in July of this year when her husband Caleb Willingham was confirmed dead. Many fans of 1000-Lb. Sisters feared his death would send her into a spiral. Would she fall off the wagon? As TV Shows Ace previously reported, this was a narrative TLC was hoping to exploit during the next season of the series.
Loved ones close to Tammy Slaton, however, report that she’s very happy with how much weight she has lost. And, she wants to keep the momentum going. So, she’s not letting the death of her husband cause her to fall off the wagon. She’s reportedly continuing to stick to her diet amid the tragedy.

Now, things are also reportedly pretty rough for Amy Halterman who is currently going through a divorce with her husband Michael. Sadly, photos reveal Amy has not continued to lose weight the same way her sister has. Fans fear that Amy’s situation with her husband may have caused her to fall off of the wagon with her diet and weight loss progress.
