ABC Gives First Look At Steve Burton’s ‘General Hospital’ Return

Official First Airdate Confirmed
Steve Burton’s return to General Hospital was announced a day after news broke that he was leaving Days of Our Lives after just one year. He joined the NBC soap after getting fired from GH in 2021 for refusing to adhere to ABC’s vaccine mandate.
The mandate has since been lifted, clearing the way for Steve Burton to return to the role he played for 20 years. The actor revealed last week that he was due on the set this week to begin filming his GH return. However, he didn’t offer a specific airdate. There was some speculation that his first appearance would happen during February Sweeps.
In a new update on his Daily Drama YouTube channel, he provided a specific date for when fans can expect him back on-screen. His first official airdate is Monday, March 4.
But the last time fans saw Jason Morgan, he was presumed dead after a tunnel explosion. Neither ABC nor Burton have commented on how they plan to resurrect Jason.
But according to TV Line, the actor assured fans the storyline would be “sick,” meaning awesome.

The network took to social media to celebrate Steve Burton’s return to set. ABC shared two photos of Steve Burton in a boxing ring that’s part of the set and often featured in scenes with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard.)
“Look who’s back in the ring!” they captioned the photo. The network teased, “Steve Burton has officially returned to Port Charles… and that’s all we can tell you (for now).

Many fans are beyond happy for Steve Burton to return, but others couldn’t take their eyes off a drastic change in his appearance. Shortly before confirming his separation, the actor got inked.
