Steve Burton Done With ‘Days Of Our Lives’
Steve Burton is departing his role on Days of Our Lives as Harris Michaels. He had been on the show back in the eighties and then returned in 2022. Now, he is done once again so what does it mean for the actor? Read on for more details.

What a way to start 2024. Steve Burton is officially a single man as his divorce from Sheree Gustin was officially finalized in December 2023. This is going to cost him $12,500/month in child support but only until April. Then, he will be down to 10K/month as he will only share one minor child with his ex-wife. Now, the actor is out of a job as he was playing the role of Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives. According to Soap Opera Digest, Burton finished filming at the end of last year. He had a one-year contract as Harris. Therefore, this was the end of that time with the soap opera.
Steve made a video directed at his fans and this is what he had to say about his time on the series and saying goodbye:
“Well, I just shot my final scenes here on DAYS OF OUR LIVES and I just want to say, thank you so much to the cast, to the crew. It’s been amazing. I can’t believe it’s been a year already! So, thank you so much to the fans. It’s just — I’m always so full of gratitude. So thank you. Stay tuned.”
Saying “stay tuned” definitely leaves the door open for him to return to the show or for him to possibly come back to Port Charles. He was on General Hospital from 1991-2012 then from 2017-2021 as Jason Morgan. Unfortunately, he, along with Ingo Rademacher (Jasper Jax), refused to abide by the network’s pandemic mandates so they were let go. Yet, enough time has gone by that maybe he would be welcomed back. Of course, fans were saddened to see Steve Burton exiting DOOL.

After seeing Steve Burton’s exit video, his fans only had positive things to say about him and his work.
