What Is The Grand Tour: Sand Job About?

The penultimate stop for the former Top Gear stars is The Grand Tour: Sand Job. The trio is headed to Mauritania, in Northwest Africa. According to IMDb,  they are headed there to follow “in the footsteps of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally. Instead of bespoke Dakar racers, the boys must complete their journey in cheap modified sports cars.”

Although the race has not been held there for over a decade, due to security reasons, these brave presenters are determined to ride across the Sahara Desert and capture the magic of this classic race. This is a physically taxing race. That means there should be some zany and complex stories in this upcoming episode.

The trio were there in May 2023 filming, with Clarkson sharing many photos on his social media. However, it does not appear that either Richard or James crashed.

Why Are The Top Gear Alums Leaving Amazon Show?

Why are Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May leaving The Grand Tour? Recently, the Clarkson’s Farm star revealed to The London Times that he is “unfit and fat and old.”

While most men like the 63-year-old Clarkson have been slowing down for the past decade, he and his co-presenters have been doing all sorts of crazy in remote parts of the world. They are all tired, and ready to move on to other projects. They have survived car crashes and Covid. Now, they just want to take it easier.

However, after The Grand Tour: Sand Job there will be one “final special” later in 2024, to conclude their Season 5 run, and participation in the Amazon Prime series.

As for the series, Amazon intends to reimagine it with other hosts.

The Grand Tour fans, are you looking forward to the new episode entitled Sand Job?
