Alison Sweeney’s New Hallmark Role Is ‘Different’ From Anything She Has Done Before
Hallmark star Alison Sweeney has been acting since she was a pre-teen. However, her upcoming Loveuary role in the Jane Austen-inspired romance Love & Jane is “different” from anything she has done before. Speaking to Remind Magazine, she reveals that in this romance, she plays a “career woman with an affinity for Jane Austen.” In Love & Jane, she portrays Lilly, who wants to write novels, and leads a local Jane Austen Book Club. Needless to say, Lilly’s favorite place to hang out is at the library.
A lifelong lover of all things Jane Austen, Ali admits that her character Lilly is not like her normal type of role. “It was just so much fun to really relish everything Jane Austen and try and really step out of the characters that I’m used to playing and doing something a little different.”

Alison Sweeney Is ‘Funny’ In Love & Jane
Back on December 16, on Jane Austen’s birthday, Alison Sweeney posted on Instagram a BTS photo from Love & Jane. She wrote, “I’m so proud of this fun romantic company based on a lifelong love of everything Jane Austen.” Her co-star, Benjamin Ayres commented, “You are SO GOOD and funny in this movie. Can’t wait for everyone to see it 👏❤️.” Alison responded, “you too buddy! Loved working on this with you.”
This sounds like Alison Sweeney is going to exercise her comedic chops. This is a huge difference from her intense mystery roles. Speaking of, this is a Chronicles Mystery reunion that should make Sleuthers happy.

How Is Acting In A Hallmark Movie Different From Days?
When Alison Sweeney was playing Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives, she revealed that her character was “so emotional and so extreme.” In contrast, when she plays a character on Hallmark, it is not so extreme. Sweeney revealed that the lows are not as low, and the characters “got their lives together.” The drama is less intense.
Also, when she was on the soap, she would not know the consequences of her character’s actions, or anything about the storyline. With Hallmark, she knows “how it’s going to end.” Moreover, that knowledge of the entire story arc is a “different feeling.”
