Hannah Swensen Mysteries, formerly known as Murder She Baked, is one of Hallmark’s most successful mystery franchises. Starring Alison Sweeney, this series follows super sleuth Hannah as she figures out the unsolvable mysteries in her small Minnesota town of Lake Eden.

Moreover, throughout the seven movies over the past decade, Hannah had two potential love interests. The first is Detective Mike Kingston (Cameron Mathison), and the other is dentist Norman Rhodes (Gabriel Hogan).

What does Alison Sweeney say about the future of Hallmark’s Hannah Swensen Mysteries? This is a warning that there are major spoilers for anyone who has not seen the most recent movie Carrot Cake Murder.

What’s Going On With The Favorite Series?

Back in May, Hallmark premiered Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. In this movie, Hannah does it again, figuring out who the murderer is. However, in the process, she felt that Mike and his boss were mocking her. She was so upset that she gave her engagement ring back to Mike!

That was back in May 2023. Will there be another movie in this Hallmark Signature Mystery Series anytime soon? Many Sleuthers still feel burned that Hallmark canceled Mystery 101 before resolving that cliffhanger. Could the network leave Sleuthers in a lurch again?

Will There Be Another Hannah Swensen Mystery In 2023?

Fans of Alison Sweeney’s Hannah Swensen Mystery series want another movie. In an exclusive interview with TV Shows Ace, the Days star revealed that they planned a second movie for 2023. Moreover, they decided that this was the time to include more elements of Joanne Fluke’s cozy mysteries in these books. That is because Hannah’s love life is pretty dramatic in the books.

Well, when Hallmark agreed to develop two movies back-to-back this summer, we thought it was the right time to take a chance on examining the complications between Mike & Hannah. In the books the movies are based on, Joanne Fluke has written a definite rollercoaster of a romantic life for Hannah.

Alison then continued to explain how she spoke with Joanne Fluke about the plan for the movies.

And as she and I have talked about her vision for Hannah, we have to adhere to the complex feelings between Hannah and Mike, and Norman too, and allow it to play out.

Therefore, they realized that as Hallmark signed off on two mysteries in one year, a cliffhanger would be resolved in some way without making the fans wait too long.

So knowing that we had another movie so the fans wouldn’t have to wait a whole year wondering what next, we knew that this was the right time to include a step backward in their relationship…so that we can enjoy watching them find their way back to each other.

  1. What’s wrong with you Hallmark? Keep taking off good movies and there will be no more Hallmark. I’m still sick over Mystery 101. Evidently you don’t care about the people that were devoted to that show. I hardly watch anything on Hallmark any more. You have ruined it for me.

    1. Then check out The Great American Family channel network. . Quite a lot of actors and actresses who used to be on Hallmark shows switched over to that network. Chris Matthewson ( don’t know how to spell his last name) has done a few movies already for The Great American Family network channel. He even promotes it.
