Shocking Reason Kim Plath Shut Down Lydia’s ‘Boy’ Texting?
In August 2021, TLC fans saw Kim Plath get into a serious conversation with Lydia. It was all about her sending anything up to 100 texts a day to a boy. As the Welcome to Plathville star seemed way too heated with her 17-year-old daughter, fans felt puzzled. However, they think they might have discovered why.
TLC Star Kim Plath Treated Her Daughter Strictly On Texting
At 17, most kids are at school, enjoying first dates, homecoming, and more. However, Lydia was raised and schooled at home. Certainly, it seemed that the entire family lived a very isolated life unless it involved going to church. After a tense scene, Lydia finally managed to get Kim and her husband Barry to ease up a bit. Then, she went into her prayer closet and presumably stopped texting the boy.
Kim Plath didn’t stop her daughter from texting altogether. If you recall, when Moriah chatted with Lydia about splitting from Max Kallschmidt, her sister seemed to have a “sorry, not sorry” attitude. On top of that, she asked Moriah if she could carry on texting Max. So, fans thought she had the hots for her sister’s boyfriend. Now, TLC fans think it might have been someone worse than Max who she was texting.
Lydia Was Texting Nathan Meggs?
Nathan Meggs is the brother of Olivia Plath and fans saw quite a lot of him over the last few seasons. In fact, some Welcome to Plathville fans decided that he was possibly gay. Why do they think Lydia might have been texting him? Well, she and Olivia were friendly and her mom couldn’t stand her daughter-in-law. So, it seems possible that Nathan and Lydia liked each other and that would have pressed all the buttons in the room for Kim.
Recently, Olivia Plath spoke with Mary Payne Gilbert on the Pink Shade podcast on YouTube. In her chart, she talked about why Kim Plath’s DUI was not covered in Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville. Mind you, Nathan’s was. Other family tales emerged, and that made someone on Reddit suspect that Lydia had been texting Nathan.
Kim Plath, Nathan, Olivia, And Lydia
Olivia broke up Barry and Kim’s family. At least, that’s what the TLC show seemed to suggest. So, a tough response against Lydia Plath’s texting makes sense. The OP said:
After watching the Pink Shade you tube video with Olivia, I have to wonder if Kim shut down Lydia’s texting with a boy because that boy was Nathan, Olivia’s brother. I had no idea people thought it could be the case because I wasn’t aware that they knew each other but it now makes sense that they both had crushes on each other and of course Kim wouldn’t want another connection to Olivia since she hated Olivia. So was that the reason why she stopped letting Lydia text?
Some other TLC fans agreed with the idea of Nathan being the boy.
