Olivia Plath Spills Tea On Why Kim’s DUI Was Not On Show
Welcome To Plathville star Olivia Plath split from Ethan Plath and she seems keen to spill tea about Kim Plath’s DUI. Actually, TLC fans hoped that the reality TV show would cover it in Season 5. However, it wasn’t addressed. Nevertheless, a year ago, fans saw a teaser that revealed her out drinking with Micah Plath. In an interview on a podcast, Olivia recently talked about why she believes the show didn’t address the DUI incident.
Olivia Plath Split From Ethan – Nothing To Lose By Talking
As nobody yet tracked down an official divorce paper, some TLC fans think there’s room for a reconciliation. However, Ethan’s estranged wife hinted on more than one occasion, that the separation has been finalized. Often candid in the past, it seems that she cares not a jot what the Plath family might think of her. So, she’s singing her version of events like a lark. One of those events circles the DUI of Kim.
Some people appreciate that Olivia Plath talks about Kim. After all, she seems like something of an enigma. Super-religious, she raised her children in a strict environment. But then, she divorced Barry and she started drinking alcohol, something she previously gave up. Although she had the freedom of college, she refused to allow Hosanna, who only briefly appeared in Season 1, to attend college. Certainly, “do what I say, not what I do,” seems to be her mantra.
Kim Plath’s DUI
In October last year, Welcome to Plathville star Kim Plath was arrested for DUI which involved in a car crash. Details soon emerged about the incident. Barry’s ex ended up booked by the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, which is located in Florida. Some of the charges mentioned included DUI, property damage, and personal damage. Shocked TLC fans slammed her for hypocrisy. Later, the case was concluded.
In the end, Kim’s case concluded with her being made to pay a fine of close to $1K and she had to do probation and community service. This week, Olivia Plath spoke with Mary Payne Gilbert on the Pink Shade podcast on YouTube. You can watch the video further down in this article. Essentially, she explained that she could have mentioned it on the show as it happened before filming started. However, she opted to keep silent. That aside, she felt that the Plaths were closing ranks around Kim and protecting her. Even if producers asked about it, the family would have probably refused to comment, anyway.

Meanwhile, as she also spoke about Ethan driving recklessly and crashing her car, fans were in agreement that she had the right to be angry. Allegedly, they almost died. So, one TLC fan noted:
Wow, that makes it so much worse, that Ethan didn’t learn his lesson, esp if it was a near-death experience.
