Derek Hough is generally known for his jovial nature on Dancing With The Stars. But during Taylor Swift Night, even he grew a little fed up with the audience.

All season long, DWTS fans noticed that the booing from the audience seemed a lot louder and more disruptive than it had been in previous years. And now, it seems like the judges are completely over it.

So what exactly did Derek have to say about it during Tuesday night’s episode?

This season, many DWTS fans were torn over contestant Harry Jowsey. It’s always fun to see fan-favorite reality stars compete for the Mirrorball Trophy. However, the Too Hot To Handle star really struggled in the ballroom. Many viewers felt that he overstayed his welcome.

But on the other hand, Harry does have his share of loyal fans who kept voting for him week after week. Without their votes, it’s unlikely that he would have made it all the way to the final six.

And it was just after Harry’s performance on Taylor Swift Night that judge Derek Hough had enough of the unruly audience’s behavior.

During Taylor Swift Night, Harry and his partner Rylee Arnold performed a Rumba to “August.” The judges agreed that Harry did improve this week, but he still wasn’t quite where he needed to be at this point in the competition.

Derek added that the Netflix star’s facial expressions needed a lot of work. The audience erupted into boos and Alfonso Ribeiro asked for everyone to let Derek speak.

“Tonight, you were comfortable. You had confidence, and it was much better than I’ve seen you before, so well done for that, my friend,” Derek continued, which resulted in applause from the audience members.

Although the tension subsided a little, it’s clear that the 38-year-old judge was still annoyed by the audience.

“Y’all need to be quiet,” he told them.

The final five continue to the semifinals

With Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold gone, only five couples remain in the competition. They are:

  • Jason Mraz & Daniella Karagach
  • Ariana Madix & Pasha Pashkov
  • Xochitl Gomez & Val Chmerkovskiy
  • Charity Lawson & Artem Chigvintsev
  • Alyson Hannigan & Sasha Farber

Next Tuesday, they will have the chance to prove they deserve a spot in the finale. But based on the audience’s behavior all season long, the judges will likely receive more boos and jeers.
