Rumors of Al Roker’s death have swirled for the past year. They first surfaced when he was hospitalized twice last year. At the time, fans of The Today Show were not sure he was going to make it. Fortunately, Al Roker did get better and he returned to work.

According to The Sun, his death is trending once again on social media. Unfortunately, the outlet does not dive into any detail about why or where “Al Roker dead” is trending this time. So, it is possible it is actually the outlet that started the trend.

Why Would His Death Be Trending? 

The report from The Sun seems to suggest it is because of the hospitalizations and struggles Al Roker had with his health last year that would be causing this trend.

A Timeline Of His Health

In May 2023, Al Roker underwent surgery. More specifically, he had total knee replacement surgery. Last year, he was hospitalized twice because of blood clots. In November 2020, Al Roker broke the news that he had prostate cancer.  He has also had a whole slew of surgeries including shoulder surgery in 2019, hip replacement in 2019, carpal tunnel surgery in 2018, and gastric bypass in 2012.

When Al Roker first shared his prostate cancer diagnosis with the world, he admitted it was a good news/bad news situation. The good news is that his medical staff caught it pretty early. The bad news, however, was that what they found was fairly aggressive.

Shortly after learning of his diagnosis, he had surgery to get the cancer removed. He reassured fans his surgery went well. Doctors found no more signs of cancer. They, however, would continue to monitor him in the off chance it returns.

So, Is Al Roker Alright?

Fortunately, TV Shows Ace can confirm there is no reason to think he is dead or dying. No one reputable has reported anything of the sort. There have been no reports of him being in the hospital.

Likewise, a quick scroll through social media doesn’t even suggest his death is actually trending. So, it is a little unclear as to where The Sun pulled this death trend from.
