‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Admits Mark Co-Hosting Was A Terrible Idea
Live! with Kelly and Mark host, Kelly Ripa recently talked about Ryan Seacrest who used to co-host the ABC morning talk show. Additionally, she also talked about her husband Mark, who replaced Ryan, and admitted that she thought it was a terrible idea. Does she still feel that way?

When Ryan left to go and host Wheel of Fortune, Mark Consuelos stepped in, and later he became permanent. Soon after that, his wife started talking about retirement, so heaven only knows how long the couple might stick around. For now, Mark seems to enjoy the morning show, but initially, both of them thought it was a bad idea. The news came when she appeared on Justin Long’s Life is Short podcast
Not everyone thought that Kelly Ripa hosting Live with Kelly and Mark with her husband was a great idea. Actually, they do take some heat from people on social media. Some viewers think they are boring, and hearing about their sex lives simply sounds too stupid for words. So, it might appease them to hear that Mark and his wife also thought that it wasn’t a good idea to team up as a married couple.

Live Kelly Ripa Reveals Her Reaction To Mark Consuelos Co-Hosting
On the podcast, Justin chatted with the ABC host about her years when she was growing up. Of course, they touched on how Mark Consuelos and his wife met while filming for All My Children. They also mentioned Ryan Seacrest’s departure from the show and his chances of success with Wheel of Fortune.
The Sun reported that Kelly Ripa said that Mark stepping up as her co-host on Live with Kelly and Mark never even occurred to them. Instead, it was ABC who approached them. The outlet cited her saying, “The network came to us, and they’re like, ‘We have a great idea. We think you and Mark should co-host together.” In fact, she didn’t react well to the proposal. She said, “I’m gonna stop you right there because that is the worst idea I’ve ever heard in my life.”
The ABC Morning Talk Show Host Was On Point?
Kelly Ripa was on point when she discussed how she and Mark felt it was ridiculous to consider them. Who wanted to watch a man and wife chatting every morning? She expanded on the thought saying, “We’re a husband and wife, and who the hell wants to see that dynamic on TV every day? Also, we’re not super exciting people.” Additionally, they worried about it either spoiling the talk show or ruining their own marriage
As fans know, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos went along with the idea. Production pointed out that they had monitored the ratings, which took a jump if her husband appeared on the show.
