Undoubtedly, it is strange when two people are together for an event but have remarkably different memories of how things happen. Similarly, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recently had an interaction like this. The couple revisited a fairly important moment in their combined life history, but they remembered things very differently. Even so, we believe they were both there since the topic of discussion was their first kiss.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Wedded Bliss

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married for 27 years. Reportedly, the couple first met on the set of All My Children in 1995. Moreover, they began dating soon after. And then they quickly married in May of 1996. However, their onscreen characters moved a bit slower and waited until 2000 to have the wedding for Hayley Vaughan and Mateo Santos. Surprisingly, they were so excited to get married, that Kelly Ripa says she skipped her bachelorette party to get down the aisle quicker! Since then, the couple welcomed three kids into the mix, Joaquin, 20,  Michael, 26, and Lola, 22.

Arguing Like An Old Married Couple

Surprisingly, the Live with Kelly and Mark hosts couldn’t get their stories to align when it came to their first kiss. This magical kiss happened on-screen in 1996.  But, the kiss was between characters Hayley Vaughan and Mateo Santos, their personas from All My Children. However, Mark Consuealos shared how surprised he was by the kiss. According to his rendition, at the time Kelly Ripa slipped him the tongue. Contrarily, Kelly Ripa adamantly denies this happening.

“That is not true!” she laughed. “That is a lie.”  Mark Conseulos rebutted, “It was the ’90s, so it was fast and loose.”  And with a big smirk, he replied, “Big tongue.” But Kelly Ripa was emphatic that it isn’t the case, “I never French [kiss] on set. That’s my own personal rule — no Frenching on set.”

Together Forever

Recently, Mark Consuelos announced he would permanently join his wife, Kelly Ripa, as cohost of Live. Initially, he started in February, succeeding Ryan Seacrest, and guest-hosted the show 92 times before getting the official position. Married and working together gives a lot of quality time, but it isn’t always something that works for couples.

However, he told ET, “I think that people think that we’re on top of each other all day.” Clarifying, he continued, “We see each other for a few hours in the morning, and oftentimes we don’t see each other until dinnertime nowadays. Because we both are off doing different things. I don’t think it’s, you know, too much time. There’s no such thing.”

Who do you think is remembering the kiss correctly? How do you like the show now that Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are together again on-screen? Do you have an example of a story that you remember differently than your significant other? Give us some feedback in the comments below.
