‘DWTS:’ Julianne Hough Gearing Up For A ‘Hot Girl Summer’
Performer Julianne Hough is enjoying the summer season and truly preparing for a “hot girl summer.”
The professional dancer is excited to rejoin Dancing With The Stars this fall as a cohost, but she’s taking her time and soaking up the summer in the meantime.

Julianne Hough hopes to explore this summer
DWTS fans are excited to see the Hough siblings reunite on the set this fall. It’s been quite some time since Derek and Julianne Hough competed against one another for the Mirrorball Trophy. This year, Julianne will be the new cohost while Derek returns to his seat at the judges’ table.
But until then, Julianne Hough is ready for a little bit of fun and excitement.
“I’m ready for friends and travel, and I guess that is a ‘hot girl summer.’ I don’t know,” Julianne told Page Six in a recent interview. She and her best friend Nina Dobrev love exploring the world together, so they likely have another trip planned.
But what about dating?
When the publication asked if the “hot girl summer” included time for romance, the DWTS star laughed off the question and simply answered “no.” She and her ex-husband Brooks Laich finalized their divorce in 2022.
Love may not be in the cards for Julianne Hough this summer, but she did recently move to New York from Los Angeles. And according to Page Six, it’s been an amazing experience for the dancer.
“Everything is so accessible at any moment, and it’s a city full of possibilities and dreams and connection, and you can think really big here,” the 34-year-old told the publication. “It just feels like there’s more ability that you’re going to meet somebody or connect with somebody that has similar like-mindedness or complete opposite and can challenge you.”
Julianne Hough may not be ready for any long-term relationships yet, but based on that answer it sounds like she’s keeping her options open.
There’s one thing in particular the dancer could do without
Julianne Hough is no stranger to the big city after living in Los Angeles. But there’s one thing about summertime in New York that she just isn’t a fan of. She reportedly told Page Six that sometimes the smell of urine is overpowering in summer.
“It’s give-and-take,” the dancer joked with the publication. “You pay for certain things. You compromise on other things. Yes, the smell’s not very good.”
Julianne went on to say that she’ll be back in Los Angeles for the fall. But for the summer, New York City has her heart.
