Al Roker Rushes To Defend ‘The Today Show’
Al Roker rushed to the defense of the Today Show. Critics have called the morning show “nonsense.” The 68-year-old television personality brought up the backlash on social media. Keep on reading to learn more and see what sparked this reaction.
Is The Today Show just nonsense?
Some people think so. In an episode of Family Guy that aired last year, Peter (Seth MacFarlane) bought a Peloton bike for his wife, Lois (Alex Borstein) for Valentine’s Day. This episode was brought up again because the holiday is right around the corner. They also made a joke about the third hour of the Today Show.
“I thought you’d like it. I saw it on The Today Show,” Peter told Lois.
“Second hour with Hoda and Savannah or third hour with the nonsense people?” Lois asked.
Around the time, the Today Show co-hosts were proud to be featured on Family Guy. Al Roker exclaimed: “We made Family Guy! We made Family Guy!” Dylan Dreyer shared: “This is, like, the highlight of my career.” Al joked before the commercial break: “More nonsense after hits.”
The clip from the animated series was featured on the morning show. Sheinelle Jones blamed Al Roker for being featured on Family Guy. Al was happy to take that honor. He said that he’s glad to be called “nonsense people.”
This wasn’t the first time that Al Roker was featured on the show. In Season 1, Episode 3 of Family Guy, the family celebrated Stewie’s birthday. Lois noticed there was “a naked man” on the birthday cake. Peter said there were only two choices and that she “did not want the one of Al Roker with Hershey Kiss nipples.”
Al Roker speaks out on Instagram
On Wednesday, February 8, Al Roker took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with his Today Show colleagues. He called out the criticism of their “nonsense” show just a year later. Al admitted he wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
“They may have called us the #nonsensepeople on @familyguyfox but wouldn’t have is any other way with these #RideOrDie of @Sheinelle_o @craigmelvinnbc and @dylandreyernbc and our family of producers, writers and crew,” Al Roker wrote in the caption.
Many of the Today Show fans defended them in the comment section. They shared that they love watching the third hour of the morning show. One user wrote: “my kind of nonsense!” while another added they are a “loyal watcher because of your nonsense.” Some fans even praised the chemistry among the co-hosts, saying they put a smile on their face.
“I have no idea who that is, but it sounds like nonsense to me. Y’all are just fine,” one fan concluded.

Imho…”Today Show” is complete nonsense.
Because of the the decision to implement Jenna Bush Heagar, I no longer watch a show that I’d never miss years ago. She’s loud, she interrupts, she acts entitled. I just feel bad for Hoda.
I’ve taken NBC morning shows off my DVR schedule.
I Love the Today Show. I feel they give lots of information about world, weather, events, etc. I like the way the crew is down to earth people and also very professional
