What Is Hallmark’s In Merry Measure About?

According to the Hallmark synopsis, Darcy (Murin) is a one-hit wonder and wants to revive her pop singing career. However, right now, it is Christmas and her recently widowed sister Gretchen (Robertson) asks her to come home. Gretchen needs her. Therefore, Darcy returns to their small Ohio hometown.

However, when Darcy arrives, she realizes she can do more than support Gretchen through this difficult first holiday without her husband. She can also help out her niece Megan (Reichman).

It turns out that Megan could not land a spot on The Herald Angels. This is a high school caroling team, and once upon a time, this is where Darcy shone like a star. This is a prestigious and award-winning singing group.

Moreover, Darcy’s old rival Adam (Penny) leads the team. Therefore, Darcy decides she can start a new group and wants Megan to help her recruit those vocalists who didn’t make The Herald Angels.

Now, the two teams need to fight it out to see which one will wind up representing their school at the annual Christmas Carol Competition. This means a sing-off!

Not only are both teams going to practice to beat the other team, but their coaches are very different in how they approach their positions.

Growing up, Adam had to work hard for everything he got. Therefore, he expects his group of students to excel. On the other hand, Darcy looks at each student’s weaknesses. Instead of looking at them as inadequacies, she looks at it as an “opportunity for impressive growth.”

Darcy’s approach is very gentle and it is working on her group of students. Yet, the students realize that if they all work as one team, they will have a better chance of winning as one group, not split into two rival groups.

In addition, Darcy and Adam’s relationship has transformed. They have gone from rivals to “something more.” But, when one of the two gets a great job offer, the other feels left in the cold.
