‘One Piece Film Red’ Continues To Dominate
One Piece Film Red is dominating the charts and it looks like there is no end to its success in sight. The movie was released in Japan on August 6 and is slated to release in the United States on November 4. With the musical Uta as the central character and her relationship with the red-haired Shanks, the movie has a lot for One Piece fans to enjoy. Seven weeks after its debut, the film still continues to dominate the chart and stands at the number one position.
Eiichiro Oda Celebrates One Piece Film Red’s Success
On Thursday, it was reported that the anime movie earned about $103 million by Tuesday (September 20). This is the movie’s 46th day at the Japanese box office.

Creator Eiichiro Oda celebrated this success with a visual depicting Uta in a wanted poster that is similar to most of the important characters in the franchise. Instead of a bounty, the movie’s earnings were written on the poster.

By September 18, the movie sold a whopping 10.72 million tickets and had reached more than $97.31 Million in earnings. One Piece Film Red successfully surpassed Weathering With You (7th and 13th all-time highest-earning anime movie in Japan).
One Piece Film Red Surpasses One Piece Stampede’s Weekend Earnings
Right after its release in Japan, the movie jumped to number one during its opening weekend. As per Anime News Network, the movie sold a whopping 1.58 million tickets & earned about $16.7 million in just two days. The best thing about this movie is the fact that it surpassed the previous movie from the One Piece universe titled One Piece Stampede.

Although One Piece Stampede had a Friday release, its successor was released on a Saturday. So One Piece Film Red just had a two-day window. Even with a shorter duration, the latest One Piece movie managed to surpass its predecessor.
It has now become the highest-selling movie in the franchise with the highest earnings in the One Piece installment. Not just that, the movie has also surpassed Top Gun: Maverick as well. It is now the highest-earning movie in Japanese theaters this year.
Crunchyroll Has Licensed One Piece Film Red For A Worldwide Release
As mentioned earlier, Crunchyroll has the license to release the movie worldwide. In Canada and the United States, the movie comes out on November 4. New Zealand and Australia will get the movie one day earlier.

A subtitled premiere of the movie was hosted during the Crunchyroll Expo Australia on September 16. In North America, the subtitled premiere will be on October 6, which coincides with the first day of Comic-Con in New York.
