American Pickers Makers Re-Air Old Frank Fritz Episode

However, it seems like the makers have now decided to bring back Frank Fritz in a desperate effort to get high ratings. With the 56-year-old still recovering from the stroke he had a month ago, it sure wasn’t possible for him to shoot for the ongoing season. So, how did the makers bring him on board?

Well, it looks like the former American Pickers star really isn’t back to the show. In an effort to subtly introduce some nostalgia, the History Channel series re-aired an old episode from the show starring Frank Fritz. This happened on Saturday when fans got a chance to watch Frank at his best hunting for a ‘Mummy’.

In the episode, Mike and Frank had a chat about Marie O’Day. She was a woman from the 1920s that was mummified by her boyfriend. This mummy was kept at a location that was loaded with some freaky memorabilia. Although Mike had the chance to purchase the mummy, he didn’t want to invest in it.

Frank Fritz Wished To Return To American Pickers

Although Fans were aware of the ongoing tension between Mike and Frank, his firing came as a surprise for fans. He was fired from the show in March 2020. In July 2021, in an interview, the former host revealed that he didn’t wish to leave the show. As per The Sun, he also claimed that he wished to start filming for the show again. The Frank Fritz Finds owner chimed in, “I would like to come back to the show. I was doing it for 11 years. I’m 100 percent recovered now and I’m ready to roll and go back on the show.”

The former host also claimed that the network hasn’t given him any direct answer on whether or not they want him back on the show. “They talk out of both sides of their mouth. It would be like me telling you I want to go back on the show and then tomorrow going, ‘I never said that, I never said anything about that’,” he explained.

American Pickers’ Ratings At Its Lowest Lows

Ever since Frank’s exit, the show ratings have plummeted like never before. While the August 20 episode brought in 1,007,000 viewers, the August 27 episode dropped to a low of 829,000 viewers. This came after fans realized that the new season doesn’t have Frank Fritz deeming it as ‘boring’.

    1. It’s ridiculous that Frank was let go in the first place.
The show was awesome with Mike and Frank but is a joke without him.
Get your heads out if you collective asses and do the right thing for once.

  1. Absolutely not watching the show that I’ve watched since the beginning.

If they bring Frank back ( not rerunning old shows but REALLY bring him back ) I will return to the show.

  2. I stopped watching after they let Frank go. The show just isn’t the same.
Personally I think if your aren’t bringing him back then they should consider ending the show.

  3. Do not miss Frank at all. All he ever did was buy small toys; big deal. Always thought he was worthless on this show. His comments since leaving show should embarrass him.

  4. Watched American Pickers for a few years I think it’s one of the best shows on tv wondered where Frank had gone even though I like Mikes brother it’s not the same show Mike and Frank had a rapport that’s what made the programme and why it’s gone on for so long if you can, bring him back.

    1. Danielle is the BOMB!! I like F & M equally, but Dani has always been the most interesting. They should have incorporated her into more shows. Bless you Frank and be well. You have many followers!!

    2. Mike’s brother Robbie has the charisma of a plank of wood!!, — no,no that just isn’t tenable.
May as well just end the show quickly, the producers want good ideas but unfortunately they just don’t have any at all!!
      — I have all the answers that would make viewers very happy and the ratings will be sky high,
Get in touch with me and the show will be better than ever and the ratings through the roof — with just two or three changes that you obviously haven’t considered.
      Sincerely Levi Stubbs.

  5. They obviously made a hasty decision which turned out to be a huge mistake and probably will be the death of the show. It is just too boring to bother with,
They have no choice but to bring Frank back ‐ otherwise it really is the end of the show— stupidity comes from not thinking things through properly, and now the show is exposed as the bore it has become — down to it’s bare bones on borrowed time. Just bring Frank back and like magic the ratings will sky rocket. Otherwise end it — fast!!

  6. BRING FRANK BACK!!!!
Will watch show again if Frank comes back.
Frank and Mike had chemistry that made the show!!!

  7. Franky will be missed. The judge awarded emergency conservatorship for Frank to get help functioning- like getting dressed, getting groceries, and other activities.

As far as the show goes, I enjoy Jersey Jons enthusiam. I love Dani and the rest of the shop gals are great. I can understand why they had to let Frank go if substance abuse was getting in the way of his job. no matter how exciting or entertaining the guy may be, he may not be worth the trouble he was causing if he was late or no show or showing up drunk. im not sure what exactly was going on but Mike said it was clearly an alcohol related problem that was affecting his work.
