‘Sister Wives’ Christine Brown Brags About New Life With Truely
Christine Brown seems to have no regrets after saying goodbye to Kody and the rest of the family in Flagstaff. The Sister Wives Season 17 premiere will come to TLC on September 11 and fans will finally get a chance to see the drama unfold.
But a year after leaving the family, Christine admits she’s happier than she’s been in years. Now, she and her youngest child Truely get to start over and build a new life together in Utah. What are the two doing with their time these days?
Christine Brown has a new adventure every day
Ahead of the Season 17 premiere, PEOPLE got the chance to sit down with the Sister Wives star and discuss her new life. Things are much quieter now that it’s just Christine and Truely at home. But they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened up Truely’s door and been like, ‘What should we do for fun today?’ And so we just pick a destination and we go and we just have fun and we just go and explore. I mean, it’s just absolutely amazing,” the TLC personality told the publication. Her other children are adults and have lives of their own now.
The new school season just started and Christine recently revealed that Truely started 7th grade. Many Sister Wives fans had a hard time digesting the news. After all, viewers watched Christine give birth to Truely in the show’s first season. Truely Grace Brown turned 12 years old this year and fans can’t help but notice how much she resembles her mother.
“It’s Truely’s first day of middle school. She’s so excited to make friends!” Christine captioned a post on Instagram. “And just ready for adventures! And honestly, she’s going to rock it like she does everything. Me, I’m a sobbing mess trying to keep it together. She’s my last child going to her first day of middle school.”
Was the marriage ever a happy one?
Ever since Sister Wives fans realized that Christine Brown left the family, they’ve discussed the reasons behind the split online. Many viewers actually believe Christine never was truly happy as Kody’s wife.
“Was she ever happy with her marriage with Kody and this kind of lifestyle? Personally, I don’t think she was. Although she probably wouldn’t leave Kody if Robyn didn’t come into picture, polygamy wasn’t really good choice for her,” one Redditor wrote. “I think that she only choose it because she grew up in polygamist family and because she was into Kody who was already married and wanted to have multiple wives, but polygamy doesn’t really suit her well, and the main reason why I think so is the fact that she called herself ‘basement wife.’ She lived in basement when only her, Janelle and Meri were married to Kody and she still didn’t like her life.”
