What John & Abbie Duggar Do For A Living To Support Their Growing Family
John and Abbie Duggar’s recent announcement has fans wondering how they pay the bills and support their growing family. On Sunday, May 8, the former Counting On stars took to social media to announce that she’s expecting again. Their second baby will arrive in “late summer.” They already have one daughter, Grace, who’s two years old. The second little one is a boy.
Because their family is growing once again, fans are curious about their financial situation. While some fans might say this isn’t anyone’s business, many are wondering what this couple does for a living.
Without Counting On airing anymore, many of the Duggar kids have had to find new ways to make money. They have been on TV for years, so this is a huge change.

What is John Duggar’s job?
John is a pilot, though it’s unclear if he does this for work or just as a hobby. He recently had a plane crash with his wife and daughter on board. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Distractify notes that John is a constable, so he has similar responsibilities as a police officer. This could make him $35,000 to $49,000 per year in Arkansas. We don’t know if he is still working as a constable, however.
John also has experience working as a “firefighter, first responder, and police volunteer,” according to TLC.
John works with several of his brothers, some of the Bates boys, and others at Medic Corps, which is a non-profit he started. They send in crews to help with natural disasters.
Does Abbie Duggar work?
When fans first “met” Abbie on Counting On, her bio noted that she was a nurse in Oklahoma. Once she and John tied the knot and settled down in Arkansas, she had her license transferred. However, it doesn’t look like she has gone back to work since having her daughter, Grace, in 2020.
In November 2019, when the couple was expecting their first baby, they spoke to Us about Abbie’s future as a nurse. Abbie explained, “I’ve got my license transferred over to Arkansas so that I have that availability if I want it. I know I’m planning to keep up my license by doing the continuing education hours.”
Then, she added, “So we’ll just keep it as an option and see what happens. … We may wait until our little girl is grown. We’ll just have it as an option if we want or need it.”
John chimed in, pointing out that she could work part-time in the future.
In the past, Abbie promoted her Poshmark store to fans, revealing she was reselling used clothing online.
Unfortunately, because John and Abbie Duggar are so quiet on social media and the show has come to an end, not many details about their lives are public. So, it’s unclear what exactly the couple does to pay the bills.
