My Hero Academia Season 6 just put out its finale, and the season as a whole is getting its best ratings so far.

Season 6 of My Hero Academia is finally over. It can confidently be said that this is the most emotional and highest-stakes season of the show thus far. Moreover, it would seem that many critics and fans alike agree with that statement. This newest batch of episodes is getting some of the highest records that the popular superhero anime has ever seen. So what is it about the season that makes it resonate so much with all viewers? Let’s talk about the ratings for the most recent season of My Hero Academia.

High Praise For Season 6

Season 6 sees some of the biggest and darkest moments in the history of the show. From the all-out war between the heroes and the League of Villains. Plus, the Dark Deku arc came in the aftermath where Class 1-A is left behind. This season is a notable shift in the dynamics of the show. This made everything feel far more grown up and less innocent than what came before.

Filmarks, the biggest review site in Japan, has taken note of the many intense changes the show has undergone. In light of this, the site has given My Hero Academia Season 6 the highest score of any season before it. Seasons 2 through 5 of the show have all gotten the same score, a 4.3, which is a little higher than the 4.2 for Season 1. Season 6 pushes that to a new level with a 4.4 score. It’s marginal but it’s a display of the show’s upward trajectory.

The reviews on American websites have been a bit more all over the place. Right now the audience score for Season 6 on Rotten Tomatoes sits at 86%. This actually makes it the third-lowest-rated season in the United States, putting it just above Season 4 at 84% and Season 5 at 82%. The first three seasons of the show all currently have higher scores, with Season 3 taking the top spot at a lofty 93%.

Considering the finale for Season 6 just came out, it may take time for more reviews to come in and change the score. That’s just where it sits at this moment.

The Future Of My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia still has a lot left in the tank. The manga may be ending soon, but it’s still ongoing, meaning it will be a while before we see the end of the anime. This is a good thing considering it clearly still has the ability to wow and excite fans. Season 7 already has its official announcement and is currently in the works. In the past, there’s been about a 1-year turnover rate on new seasons. So it’s likely that we can expect new episodes of the show around spring 2024.
