Dead Body Found In Foreclosed Texas Home
When properties go into foreclosure, they are often put up for auction. For one new homeowner in Texas, they found more than they bargained for with a new property they acquired, which included a dead body. What else do we know about this situation and everything that went down?
Foreclosure Is A Common Occurrence In The Real Estate Business
Properties going into foreclosure are typically never a good thing for previous homeowners. A foreclosure happens when a homeowner fails to make mortgage payments. From there, the lender takes possession of the property, and the property in question is put up for auction.
While this is often a terrible scenario for the previous homeowner, it’s often lucrative for whoever buys these properties at auction. Many people buy homes that they either renovate and flip, or sometimes, they live in these homes themselves following the auction.
However, based on a news story coming out of Addison, Texas, a new homeowner got more than they bargained for when a dead body was found inside a property they got at auction. So, what else do we know about this situation?
Dead Body Found In Texas Home
A woman named Pauline Williams (69) was found dead inside a Texas home, and it is suspected that she had been dead inside the home for weeks. Neighbors even pointed out that mail was piling up, but many did not think to check on her.
According to WFAA, “the home had gone into foreclosure and, as is the normal process, had been sold at a Dallas County auction on October 28. Police say the new owner who purchased the home at that auction went to the house for the first time on Wednesday. They say that’s when the body of Pauline Williams was found inside, on the living room carpet, just a few feet from the front door.”
At the time of this writing, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office is trying to determine how long Pauline Williams had been dead inside the home. In addition to this, authorities are trying to contact her relatives to determine why no one reported her missing.
It turns out, many neighbors in the home community had a lot to say about this situation following the body of this woman being discovered inside the home. One person said, “I think that was the shocking part of it. Reminds me to check on my neighbors a little bit more frequently. And just try to be friendly and hope that doesn’t happen to you one day.”
