Tragedy Strikes For Texas Man Outside Of Houston Restaurant
According to the New York Post, a man named Jessie Mobley Jr. “allegedly fell asleep after eating a meal at KFFO Afro Steakhouse in Houston on Aug. 7 and employees moved him outside, where he was propped up with his belongings and not discovered until the next morning, according to the Houston Police Department.”
It turns out, restaurant staff believed Mobley Jr. to be a homeless man. Due to this, they moved him on their own and did not call 911 for assistance. First responders pronounced the 34-year-old man dead outside of the Eldridge/West Oaks neighborhood strip mall just after 9 am.

Family Members Blame Restaurant Staff For Man’s Death
Family members of Jessie Mobley Jr. are blaming restaurant staff for his death. His aunt was left utterly “disgusted” with how staff at the establishment chose to handle this situation. Speaking to the Houston Chronicle, Charlene Fogg-Drake said of the situation, “Why didn’t you call 911? I feel like people need to be accountable for it, I really do.”
At the time of this writing, no cause of death has been determined. Police are currently awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Speaking on this tragic situation and the loss of her son, Mobley’s mother added, “We just think if somebody had gotten him some help instead of putting him on the sidewalk — called 911 if nothing else. If you don’t know what’s wrong with someone, you shouldn’t assume.”

Geez, seriously. As a Texan, myself, what is wrong with these people? The staff couldn’t call 911? It does not matter what they thought of this poor man, homeless or not, where is your compassion for another human being? If it comes back that this man died needlessly, then the whole staff should go to jail.
Utterly appalling!! I take it no one tried to wake him up? If they say they tried, did they find it odd that he did not respond? I hope that they are held accountable for their actions!
I totally agree 💯.
I agree! what ever happened to having compassion for another person? This breaks my heart. My deepest condolences to his family may be he bc RIH 🕊️
They’re responsible not taking the right action.
Very well said, you are exactly right.
Agree!!! What is wrong with some people? Jail is too good for them.
Amen brother, I totally agree with you…
Precisely, they should have called 911. Callous disregard could have cost him his life. They should absolutely be held accountable. He should be seen as a human instead of treating him like trash. Absolutely disgusting to see as a Texan.

Say again????? Slow down a little, catch your breath and try again. Ever heard of “punctuation”? You know, a period, and exclamation point, a question mark??? All things learned at the latest, 3rd grade. What about sentence structure? And I’m guessing that using spell check is an incomprehensible term or one that you’ve never heard of, correct? So what have we learned today? Sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation, spell check and NOT USING ALL CAPS would make your comment much easier to decipher and pleasant to read
should make fun of people
DONT LIKE CAPS
Kathy I am appalled as well I feel like they just threw the man out like some trash it’s so sad that these people do not have sympathy or empathy for a person to just make a judgment that the man was homeless did the man order food had he been eating if he spent his money to eat food at the restaurant why would they put him out like that unless they are trying to cover up that whatever happened to him either he choked on their food or the food was bad maybe they’re trying to hide something well we will see once they do the autopsy but it is really sad so so sad that this happened like this they could have made a phone call and that phone call could have saved his life my prayers go out to the family.
What they did to this man is unbelievably abhorrent, and they all need to be held accountable, sued, and shut down ASAP.
Agree! This situation could have been caused by a diabetic coma from eating a large meal, or it might have been a stroke, heart attack, or choking incident in the restaurant. Best of luck to the restaurant owner as they navigate this issue. It appears to be a case of neglect, whether due to the condition of the individual or the restaurant’s response.
For the staff to move an unresponsive person from the premises without calling for help indicates a serious lack of training and empathy. Those involved should be terminated if they made this decision without management’s approval. If management directed them to do so, then the manager also needs to be fired. This reflects pure neglect!
Well said!! This was a human being that we are talking about, and everyone that had a hand in the HORRIBLE WAY he was treated, if the Right Attorney gets ahold of this and the family decides to prosecute, YOU’RE ALL SCREWED!!
You guys and gals really did this????? Just hand over the paperwork of the restaurant and that $10,000,000.00 check to his mother. Yall really FUBAR!!!!! Pray that God forgives you all…..
I think the they all need training on how to handle human beings . How do they know he was just sleeping. It takes a real tired person to know someone is moving them. He was going thru something when they was able to put him outside without him waking up or making any sound that should have told them something. No one sleeps that hard. call 911 or just the police. Where’s the Manager???
.
This is the worse Smh people with 0 compassion for human life and this is an business establishment, how horrifying how Sad my Condolences goes out to the Family can’t bring him back but someone/s must take accountability. God knows and sees all, Mercy on y’all Souls.
Well said!!

Someone needs to go to JAIL!!! Somebody needs to be held accountable! This is unacceptable and inexcusable! He was discriminated against because what they assumed was his living situation and they threw him out like trash. How did he sit out there all day and night and no one noticed or did anything about it until the next day. The Houston Police Department need to take action and arrest whoever was involved in this despicable situation including but not limited to the workers who put him outside, whoever gave the authority for the move, and whoever stood by and watched and did nothing while it was taking place. Justice for him and his loved ones
They say they thought it was a homeless man who fell asleep, as if that made their actions perfectly acceptable. As if a homeless person doesn’t have any rights or feelings. What is wrong with people?? Did no one working there have any instincts? This whole situation is messed up.
If he was homeless how could he afford to eat at a steakhouse? Most homeless ppl do not eat in high priced restaurants. Regardless if he was homeless or not, he should have NEVER been treated like trash. How do you move someone out of a restaurant and they don’t wake up? That right there should have told them something serious was going on. The actions of the management and employees of this restaurant is despicable. they should all be arrested and the family should sue every one of them along with the restaurant. My condolences to this man’s family, may God be with them.
The restaurant should be shut down immediately all staff involved charged with involuntary manslaughter for their actions moving him outside and not calling 911 allowing the man to die. They should have known something was wrong when he was still where he was left when they closed for the night. The family needs to take legal action immediately holding everyone accountable.
911 it’s really not that hard!!!!! and what were you thinking?
I totally agree 💯.
My opinion is that he probably ate something at the restaurant and maybe got some allergy reaction and they found that was easy just to throw him outside like a piece of trash steady of call 911. I think the restaurant is hiring something.
I think these people were very reckless and they should have called 911 if nothing else… I would send every one of them to jail if it is found out that he would be saved if 911 had been called and as his family I would sue the restaurant and own it… This world and some of the people in it has gone straight to hell these days… NO CONPASSION FOR THIS HE MOST LIKELY COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED… CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY!!
