American Idol Crew Disagreed With Easter Special
American Idol fans saw the first-ever faith-based special air on Easter Sunday and nobody was more excited about it than Carrie Underwood. She let her excitement show as she, fellow performers, judges and contestants belted out songs based on faith.
There was talk that some of the crew members on Idol thought having an Easter special was inappropriate. All three of the judges were on board with the three-hour special but none more than Carrie. In fact, she played such a large role in making the special happen that many wonder if it was part of her terms in agreeing to join the show.
An inside source shared with The Sun that some of the crew behind the scenes did not agree with having a faith-based episode. The insider said, “Some didn’t think it’s completely appropriate but felt uncomfortable speaking up about it while others saw no problem with it as it didn’t focus on a specific religion. But some people who work on the show liked it primarily because of the religious aspect. Again, a polarizing topic. People felt different ways about it.”
