‘Good Morning America’ Who Has Taken Robin Roberts’ Place?
Robin Roberts has been a part of Good Morning America for years. However, fans have noticed someone sitting in her spot during a recent episode of the series. However, some longtime fans of the network may recognize Roberts’ substitute.
Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts Is Making A Return To Her Sporting Roots
Roberts has been a co-anchor on Good Morning America since 2005, having previously worked with ESPN for 15 years. However, fans of the series noticed she was recently absent from her usual place on GMA.
Robin Roberts is currently in Miami, putting her sportscasting skills to good use. While there, she is reporting on the Unrivaled women’s professional three-on-three basketball league and Rose Basketball Club’s recent win.

Back in New York, viewers saw George Stephanopoulos work alongside Whit Johnson and another figure, who was sitting in Roberts’ usual spot. Notably, Roberts’ replacement should be familiar to Good Morning America fans.
As noted by Hello! Magazine, Roberts’ replacement was Mary Bruce, who serves as ABC News’ chief White House correspondent. She is normally based in Washington, D.C.
Notably, Bruce often appears on other ABC programs. This includes World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, and 20/20.
In addition, Bruce has also appeared on ABC News Live programs and ABC News Radio. This also isn’t her first time filling in as a co-anchor on Good Morning America when the regular hosts are away.
Mary Bruce Has Covered A Lot Of Prominent Political Events In Recent Years
In her role as chief White House correspondent, Bruce has covered many major political events. This has included the 2024 election, from covering Biden’s campaign exit to interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris upon becoming the Democratic nominee.
Beforehand, Bruce worked as a segment producer for This Week with George Stephanopoulos. In this role, she also got covered politics, developing interviews with the 2008 presidential candidates. She originally joined ABC News back in 2006.

In her personal life, Bruce shares two children with her husband. The two were married back in 2013.
Back in 2021, Bruce spoke with People about her growing family. As she noted at the time, “Two kids is definitely an adjustment. It’s man-to-man defense in our house now! It took my 3-year-old son a little while to get used to the idea that she’s here to stay, and that he has to share mommy and daddy. But now, he’s becoming a very sweet, protective big brother and is eager to teach ‘Baby Sister’ all his tricks.”
Bruce noted that she juggled her career with her family right until the big moment. As she shared, “It’s true what they say, the second baby definitely comes much faster.”
“I had just come home from doing World News Tonight at the White House, put our toddler son to bed, and was about to make dinner and hopefully go to bed early when my water broke. My husband says he just heard me shout out, ‘Oh no! Now? I’m not ready!'”
