‘ABC News’ President Announces Shocking Hire

Over the past few months, various news programs have seen a variety of hosts come and go. Recently, a new hire has been announced for ABC News, and it is reportedly leaving other staff members surprised. A few inside sources have recently opened up about the situation.
The ABC News President Recently Announced The New Hire
ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic has lauded a new vice president of talent and strategy for the network. Notably, this comes out as layoffs have impacted the network.
The new vice president is ABC veteran Audrey Taylor. Reportedly, the news has already sparked interest in the industry.

According to Page Six, an inside source revealed, “No one knows who she is! She doesn’t know the talent. The hire was shocking to everyone.”
That said, Karamehmedovic spoke highly of the new hire when announcing Taylor’s new role. In a statement, he described Taylor as having “extensive history working closely with and nurturing talent in our Washington, DC, bureau.”
Karamehmedovic continued, “She has long demonstrated the highest level of dedication and commitment to ABC News’ journalistic integrity. That winning combination, along with her keen intuition for spotting and developing the best new talent, makes her the perfect person to fulfill this role.”
However, Taylor’s hiring has made other happy. According to sources, the position had been vacant for around two years.
Another source described Taylor as a familiar face. It was said she was especially well known among correspondents working around the D.C. bureau, as she had been the director of bureau planning and strategy. However, the new position will see her move to New York.
In a press release, Taylor herself also shared, “This is an evolution of what I have been doing my entire career,” She continued, “ABC News has a storied history of journalists and exceptional talent.”
Another Position Remains Frozen At The Network
Taylor shared this was “the main reason we are the most trusted news network in America.” She added, “I am incredibly proud to support our talent and help identify new voices and contributors to continue this great heritage.”
That said, some sources seemed skeptical. As another source noted, “She doesn’t know the talent and she’s running talent?” They later added that “their agents don’t know her either!”

An insider also talked about how long it took to fill in the vacant position. As they noted, “It’s crazy it took them two years and this is the only person they could find.” They also said, “All they do is twiddle their thumbs.”
However, the senior vice president role still remains frozen. As a source revealed, “[Audrey] reports to Almin in the interim until an SVP of talent strategy & development is named.”
Notably, Taylor’s promotion comes out after the axing of talent executive Barbara Fedida. As previously reported, this also comes out after massive layoffs were confirmed regarding Good Morning America earlier this month.
